This survey is about helping the Irish community in Australia, it serves no commercial interests. We are keen to hear from women who have come to Australia with partners who are working here on 457 Visas, and from women and their families on these visas who have stayed to become permanent residents and citizens. We would like to know about the challenges faced by spouses in caring for children and setting up a new home - and what sort of support services would have made life easier in the move to Australia. The results of the survey will be used by the by following groups to help inform services provided for those who are new to Australia, as well as longer term residents. * The Irish Australian Support & Resource Bureau in Melbourne * The Claddah Association in Perth * The Irish Australian Support Association of Queensland * The Irish Australian Welfare Bureau in Sydney

Page 1: Irish survey

This survey is being conducted on behalf of Irish support groups throughout Australia and is part of a Swinburne University field study in Social Impact.

We would like to assure you that all responses are completely confidential, that the results of the survey will be aggregated and no individual will be identified as a result of the survey.  None of this information will be passed onto a third party.  The trends identified in the survey will be reported to the community and will be used to help develop services.

As well as this survey, we would like to hear from individuals who may be prepared to be interviewed about their lives in Australia, this information would form part of a study by Swinburne University and privacy obligations of the University would be met.
