1 Introduction
Overview
The iResponse PRO Classroom Responder System is a unique classroom response and test/quiz distribution system
that functions on the iPad, iPhone and iPod touch. TATE’s iResponse enables schools and training institutions to
incorporate iOS devices into their lessons, transforming every class into an interactive learning environment with no
required Internet connection.
Students will improve their retention of class material and benefit from the incorporation of visual images into
questions. Instructors will be able to monitor student comprehension seamlessly through the Utility program,
creating an adaptive educational environment where individual student progress can be gauged and class pace
adjusted.
The iResponse Classroom Responder System has two components, the iResponse PRO application (app) for the
iPad/iPhone/iPod touch and the iResponse PRO Utility.
iResponse PRO iPad/iPhone/ iPod Touch Application
The application is available for download from iTunes onto individual devices (iPad/iPhone/iPod touch) by either
the student or instructor. It is required for all participants in the training session. During class, students log-in to
a session to receive and respond to questions, or to receive, complete and submit tests. Students can also view
individual and class results over the course of a session if the instructor enables this function.
iResponse PRO Utility
The free Utility software (for both Macs and PCs) is downloaded by the instructor from the iResponse website:
http://iresponseapp.com/downloads/.
The Utility is where content, such as questions, answers, images, and tests, are created and pushed to student
devices. The instructor uses the Utility to develop questions and answers on their computer and also to transmit
questions or test(s) directly to student devices. Questions, answers and tests can be created ahead of time, saved
on the instructor’s computer and retrieved during class, or created on the fly while a class session is underway.
The Utility enables the instructor to view who is connected to the system, who has responded to the question
and what response was given. Both class and individual statistics can be displayed and tracked through the Utility.
Tracking results by “Alias” allows the instructor to share student data with the entire class anonymously if desired.
The Utility allows for responses (correct and incorrect) to be displayed in a graph, with the correct response
indicated. The Utility tracks overall class performance, as well as individual performance statistics. The instructor
uses the Utility to enable or disable the feature that allows student devices to review performance results. The
Utility also allows instructors to view, print and save session results, by individual student performance or by
performance on a specific question.
Page 2 iResponse PRO User Guide
iResponse PRO Test Taking Function.
The iResponse PRO version Utility also allows instructors
to create, distribute and receive tests, either take-home
or in-class, timed or untimed. Student devices loaded
with the iResponse PRO app receive the distributed tests
while network connected to the Utility, i.e., during a
class session. For an in-class test, students complete and
submit the test while connected to the class session. For
a take-home test, students receive the test in-class and
disconnect from the session and complete the test while
disconnected. Once reconnected to a networked class
session, they submit their completed tests.
After the student has completed and submitted a test, the instructor (and student, if enabled by the instructor) can
view results on individual and class performance.
The iResponse Utility is Comprised of Four Screens/Windows:
iResponse Connect Screen: Where class sessions are controlled. Used to connect
(start) and disconnect (end) class sessions, create the class ID, session name, set server
port, enable performance and results data to be shared with students, add a class or
school logo to the iResponse screen and view all devices connected to the session.
iResponse Questions Screen: Where content is created. Used to select
the question type, create the questions and answers, insert images into
questions, determine answer feedback option, transmit the questions and
answers, or test questions, to the connected devices or test questions during
an instructor paced knowledge check session.
Page 3iResponse PRO User Guide
iResponse Answers Screen: Where student responses are viewed,
question by question. Displays the respondents’ answers in a bar graph
format, with an option to highlight the correct answers and show
percentages. This screen displays by Alias, allowing the instructor to
project this screen and share class results while keeping individual
student responses anonymous.
iResponse Statistics Screen: Where class and student
performance is tracked across a class or test session. Enables the
instructor to view analytical data of the session, including overall class
performance and individual student performance. Statistics may be
further sorted by question or individual. In the PRO version this data
may be printed, saved and/or exported in .xml format for advanced
users.

Instructions for Downloading the Application and Utility
The iResponse PRO application (app) is available for purchase at the iTunes Store. It is compatible with the iPad,
iPhone and iPod touch. Once the app has been purchased and uploaded to the device, the Utility software must be
downloaded from the iResponse website at: http://iresponseapp.com/downloads/ . The software is available for both
Mac and PC. The Utility has four windows, as described in chapter one above. After installation, it is a good idea to
open the program and become familiar with the functions of each window.
Troubleshooting Tip: If your network settings do not allow ‘two-way’ or peer to
peer communications between devices (possible in certain situations where a Fire
Wall is active) it may be necessary to modify the network security settings to allow
communication between the host computer and connected device(s) or set up another,
stand-alone network using any commercial WiFi router.
Instructions for Connecting Devices to Host Network
Important: Before proceeding, ensure that the host computer running the Utility and the device(s) with the
iResponse app loaded are on the same wireless network.
Connect on a Mac Using Active Wi-Fi Network
Use the AirPort utility (called ‘Wi-Fi’ on systems running OS X 10.7 Lion) on the Mac to set both the host computer
and devices to the same Wi-Fi network.
On the host computer (Mac):
From the menu on the top right of the screen, select and hold the AirPort
icon. A dropdown menu will appear.
Select the desired Wi-Fi network and enter the password, if necessary. A
checkmark will appear next to the active network.
On each device with the iResponse app installed:
Tap the Settings icon.
From the General Settings screen, tap on Network.
Tap on Wi-Fi and then tap on the same active network that the host computer is set on.
Enter password, if required.
Page 5iResponse PRO User Guide
A checkmark will indicate the selected network and the network name will appear next to the word Wi-Fi on
the tab on the left hand side of the screen. Ensure that this name is the same as the one checked on the host
computer.
Ad-Hoc Network – Mac
The iResponse system is designed for compatibility with Mac’s AirPort/Wi-Fi program. This enables the iResponse
Utility to communicate with the iResponse App on devices using a computer-to-computer connection (ad-hoc
network). To enable use through an ad-hoc network:
On the host computer (Mac):
From the menu on the top right of the screen, select and hold the AirPort icon. A dropdown menu will
appear.
Select ‘Create Network...’ (this creates a computer to computer, or ad-hoc, network)
Name the connection and set password, if desired.
Click ‘OK,’ and return to the AirPort/Wi-Fi window to ensure that the newly created ad-hoc network is
the active network connection. A checkmark will appear next to the active network connection and the
AirPort/Wi-Fi icon will change in appearance.
Page 6 iResponse PRO User Guide
On each device with the iResponse app installed:
Tap the Settings icon.
From the General Settings screen, tap on Network.
Tap on Wi-Fi and then tap on the ad-hoc network that the host computer is set to.
Enter password, if required.
A checkmark will indicate the selected network and the network name will appear next to the word Wi-Fi
on the tab on the left hand side of the screen. Ensure that this name is the same as the one checked on
the host computer.
Troubleshooting Tip: If the following message appears, check to make sure that your devices are still
set to the same Wi-Fi network as your host computer.
Devices can connect back to other active networks if they have been connected to them previously.
To keep the devices from
remembering old networks, tap on
the blue arrow on the far right side
of the active network tab.
Go back to the Wi-Fi screen and
re-select the correct network
(Classroom in the example above).
Tap on ‘Forget this Network.’
If connectivity issues persist, close and restart the iResponse app on each device. Directions for closing the app
can be found on page 16.

3 Starting a Session
iResponse Utility
In the iResponse Connect Screen, provide a Classroom ID and Session name.
The data entered into the ‘Classroom ID’ field will be the link to the iResponse app on
the devices. Label it something that your students will find logical and easy to type,
such as: Mrs. Wong, West Elem G5, Class 504, etc.
The data entered into the ‘Session name’ field is saved in the metadata when a series
of questions are saved in the iResponse Question screen. The session, and all of its
questions and answers, can be retrieved for repeat use. Therefore, it is recommended
that the ‘Session name’ be something that correlates to the questions being asked, i.e.,
Spelling List #27, Masters of Art, etc.
Instructors control student ability to view information on their performance, and the
performance of the rest of the class, from their devices using this Utility screen.
Click on ‘Hide Performance Tab on Device’ to block student visibility of the app’s Performance Tab and its
information.
Click on ‘Hide Results Tab on Device’ to block student visibility of the app’s Results Tab and all of its information.
Note: Instructors can allow or block these tabs from appearing before a session begins or while a session is running.
However, if student access to these tabs is allowed when a class session is in progress, the results and performance
data from the entire session will be visible to the student, not just performance data from that point on.
Instructors can also add a watermark of a class logo or mascot to the iResponse screens by Clicking on ‘Browse for
image...” selecting a file and clicking ‘Open.’ The image will appear as a small watermark in the Class Logo box and
will also appear on all tabs
of the iResponse app.
To remove the image,
click on .
Page 8 iResponse PRO User Guide
To start a session from the iResponse Connect Screen, click on . Once a session has started the
button will change to .
Any device on the same wireless network can now join the session.
iResponse App
On the device, tap on the Login Tab.
Enter the following information:
First Name
Last Name
Classroom ID (must be identical to the ‘Class ID’ field entered on
the iResponse Utility)
Alias (if a manual overwrite is desired). The Alias field will
automatically populate with the device name or unique ID. A
different Alias can be used by manually entering a new Alias
name, however this manual entry will be erased each time the app
is closed and restarted. The Alias name must be unique for each
device connected to the session.
Tap on the ‘Connect’ button to join the session. Once connected the
button will change to ‘Disconnect.’
The iResponse Connect Window in the Utility will display the total number
of devices connected to the session, as well as their connection status. It lists students
connected by last name, first name and Alias.
Once connected to a session, the iResponse app will automatically move to the iResponse
Tab and the device will show that it is ready for the first question.
Note on Connection Status
OK – Connected to session
Slow – Device communication with Utility is slow
Disconnected – Student device has been
disconnected from the session and needs to
reconnect
Note: Devices may jump back and forth between “OK”
and “Slow” throughout the class session. This will not
affect overall communications between the app and
Utility and typically resolves itself.

Creating Questions
Questions are created from the iResponse Questions window.
Select the question type from the drop down menu.
Type the question in the question field or copy and paste the
question from a source document
Note: Text formatting, such as font selections, boldface, italics,
superscript, etc., will be removed when pasted into the iResponse
question field.
To add an image to the question field, click on . Select
the image file and click ‘Open.’ The photo will appear in the
‘Image’ box.
Note: Both JPEG and PNG files work in the iResponse question
field, however for ease and speed of transmission, JPEG files
under 164 KB, landscape oriented, approximately 720x540
in size are recommended. Each image added to a question
is automatically saved to the folder Documents – iResponse
Images. For best results, unique file names are recommended for
each photo used in an iResponse question. In other words, select
a different name for each image file, instead of using a name such as ‘image1.jpg’ multiple times.
To clear an image from the question, click on .
For Multiple Choice and Free Response questions, type answers, or copy and paste answers from a source
document, into the answers field. Answers populate automatically for True/False, Yes/No, and Survey
questions.
Indicate the correct answer by checking the button to the right of the correct answer field.
To add another question, click on .
To delete questions from the list, click on .
To reorder the questions, select question to be moved from the ‘Question’ field and drag and drop it to the
correct position.
Page 11iResponse PRO User Guide
Checking the box marked ‘Instant Feedback’ will enable students to see if their response was correct or
incorrect as soon as they answer a question. If the question is answered incorrectly, the correct answer is
provided.
Note: It is possible to toggle this feature on and off during a class session.
Transmits individual question to students (see page 13 for more information).
Free Response Questions:
The iResponse PRO system allows for the use of Free
Response answers. The instructor can either manually
grade these questions, or for questions requiring short
answers (math problems, vocabulary, spelling tests,
names and dates) the system can automatically grade
student responses.
Manual grading is completed in the Questions tab the
iResponse Statistics window. Instructors can mark
answers as correct by checking the ‘Correct’ column.
Once the instructor manually grades the question, the student can view their results in the Performance tab in
the iResponse app, as long as the instructor has not chosen to hide the Performance tab (see page 8 for more
information).
Page 12 iResponse PRO User Guide
For Free Response questions requiring short answers, the automatic grading function can be used. The answer that
the system will use to grade each question is the one entered into the answer field. “Instant feedback” for Free
Response questions will only apply when ‘Grade free response answer by hand’ is not selected.
Note that the iResponse automatic grading is not case sensitive, but is punctuation sensitive.
If the instructor chooses to grade Free Response questions manually and wishes for the students to have feedback
on their results, once the instructor marks results they will be visible in the iResponse app Performance tab as long as
student devices remain connected to a session.
New Questions
To begin a new list of questions, first save any existing questions in the
question list, then select the ‘File’ drop down menu.
Select ‘New Questions Document.’
A blank questions screen will appear and you can now enter new questions
and answers.
It is possible to add new questions to a list of previously created and saved
questions. To do this, follow the directions for new questions above and
once in the new question document, follow the directions for opening saved
question sessions and begin to add new questions by selecting .
It is also possible to merge multiple sets of questions into a single question
and answer session file. To do this, follow the instructions for opening saved
question sessions and repeat the process for each session file you would like
to add to the new combined session. Reorder the questions by using the drag
and drop feature.
Page 13iResponse PRO User Guide
Transmitting Questions
With a class session open and all student devices connected, select and highlight the question you wish to transmit
and click on . Once the question is transmitted, the button will change to .
You can view student responses by Alias as they are returned instantaneously in the iResponse Answers window (see
next section for details).
To end a question, select . For the second and all subsequent questions in a session this button

Viewing Responses
The iResponse Answers screen in the Utility uses a bar graph to enable viewing
and monitoring of live responses from devices connected to a session. From
this window, the following options are included:
Click on left and right arrows to scroll through transmitted questions.
Display window shows the selected question and possible answers.
Bar graph depicting the responses for the selected question organized
by answer given.
Selecting ‘Show percentile histogram’ allows the instructor to view at a
glance the percentage each response was selected.
Selecting ‘Highlight answer’ changes the color of the correct answer to
green on the Utility screen.
Display box showing how each student responded to the question by Alias. This list populates in the order
that responses were received, not alpha numerically.
Note: There may be a slight delay in time between the student responding on the App and the response
appearing in the Utility.
If the instructor wishes to project this window to the class, but does not wish for the responses by student
Alias to be visible, this box can be collapsed by hovering the mouse over the right hand border of the student
response box until the symbol appears and then dragging the box to the left until it is invisible.< + >
Page 15iResponse PRO User Guide
Saving Questions
To save a list of questions for later use, select the File drop down menu.
Select Navigate to the correct location where you would
like the questions saved, name the file appropriately and select .
Opening Saved Question Sessions
To open a list of saved questions for editing or transmission in-class
transmission, select the drop down menu.
Select from the window that opens, navigate to the
location of the saved question file, select the question file and select ‘Open.’
Creating an Interactive Classroom
Projecting the iResponse Answers window to the class enables the instructor to share responses as they come
in with the entire class. Collapsing the box listing responses by Alias focuses student attention on the actual
responses, and not on how individual classmates responded. By disabling the ‘Highlight answer’ box the instructor
can project the window for students to view as they answer the question, without giving them any indication of
the correct answer.
Page 16 iResponse PRO User Guide
Ending a Session
To end a class session, go to the iResponse Connect window and click . The status on the
devices will change to read ‘Finished.’
Students disconnect from a class session by returning to the Login tab on their devices and tapping .
If students have not disconnected from the session when the instructor ends the session, the following message will
occur.
Note: The ‘lost network connection’ message above will also display if the student device has inadvertently been
disconnected from an active class session. This could be caused by a number of factors, including router connectivity
issues or too many devices connected to a single router. Should this occur, instruct students to tap and
return to the Login tab and reconnect to the session by tapping .
Page 17iResponse PRO User Guide
Troubleshooting Tip: Between Sessions
To prevent connectivity issues, it is important that the iResponse app on each student device be closed
between iResponse sessions and not simply minimized.
To do this, quickly double tap the button on the
device. This will bring up a bar at the bottom of the device
screen that horizontally lists all open. Scroll through these
until the iResponse app icon appears.
Press and hold the icon until it begins to jiggle and a red dot appears on the upper right hand corner of the
icon.
Tapping on the red dot shuts the app all the way down. Tap anywhere above the bar to return to the main
screen.
The iResponse app is now completely closed and is not running in the background. Be sure to instruct students
to repeat this process at the end of each class session.

the answer is correct.
Page 23iResponse PRO User Guide
6 Tests
The iResponse PRO enables instructors to transmit complete sets of questions in the form of tests to connected
devices, receive competed tests and provide instant feedback to students on their own performance as well as
overall class performance.
Any question list can be used in either an in-class session or test capacity. A set of questions transmitted as a test
works very similar to a set of questions for in-class use, with the exception that all questions in the prepared list are
transmitted to the student and returned to the instructor at one time.
The iResponse PRO supports three different types of tests: In-class tests, timed take home tests and untimed take
home tests.
Student devices must have the iResponse PRO app loaded and must be connected to an active session in order to
receive and submit transmitted tests.
In-Class Test
An in-class test is one that the students complete during a class session, without disconnecting their devices from
the host network. The instructor controls the duration of the test, by starting and ending the test session manually.
Starting an In-Class Test
To transmit an in-class test, the instructor begins class
session and opens (or creates) a list of questions.
Refer to chapters 3 and 4 for instructions on starting a
session and creating lists of questions. Once all student
devices have connected to the session, click on
‘Testing...Distribute test..’
The following window will appear. For an in-class test, click
on the ‘In-class Test’ tab.
Page 24 iResponse PRO User Guide
Click on .
The button will change to .
The number of tests successfully distributed over the network
will be displayed in the iResponse Testing window.
The active question set will be sent in its entirety to all
connected devices. Each student device connected to
the session will receive an alert that an in-class test has
been transmitted and the app will automatically switch
to the Tests tab.
The student taps then taps on the name of
the test and then taps to begin taking the
test. At this point, the test will commence.
Note: Students should not be allowed to start a
test until the instructor verifies that all devices have
received the test.
Page 25iResponse PRO User Guide
Students go through the entire test on their devices. The test questions will flow
automatically once students select an answer for each question. Students must select an
answer for each question in the test.
After all questions have been answered, the button will appear in the top right hand
corner of their device screen. A message will appear asking if the student is ready to submit
the test or if they would like to review their answers.
If the student is ready to submit their tests, instruct them to tap
. If they would like to go back and review and change their
answers, instruct them to tap .
Students navigate back and forth through the test to review their
answers by tapping the arrows on the lower left and right hand
corners of their device screen. Students can change their answers
at any time while the in-class test is still in session, i.e., before the
instructor clicks on the button in the
Utility. To change the answer to a question, the student simply taps
on the desired answer (at that point it will be grayed out) and it will
de-select the first answer, select the new answer and move to the
next question.
A question can be skipped by clicking on the arrows at the bottom of the device screen, but after the entire test has
been completed, students will be automatically be redirected back to the skipped questions. Note that will
only appear at the top right hand corner of the device when all questions have been answered.
Once the student is ready to submit the test, instruct them to tap . This button will be located at the top
right corner of the device screen if the student has first reviewed answers, or on the pop up message if no review
of the test answers has been conducted.
Page 26 iResponse PRO User Guide
A confirmation box will appear. Tapping willl submit the test. Tapping will take
the student back into the test where they can continue to review and change answers.
Once a test has been submitted, a green check mark will be
displayed next to the submitted test in the device’s Tests tab.
If the test in the listing on the device’s Tests tab is tapped before the
instructor ends the test, the following message will appear.
Tapping will return the user back to the Tests tab. Tapping will prompt the following screen:
Selecting is not recommended as it will delete the submitted tests prior to it being received (and graded) by
the Utility.
Page 27iResponse PRO User Guide
Ending and Receiving an In-Class Test
At the end of the desired test period, the instructor concludes the
test by clicking on the in the testing window.
The Utility does not receive test data until this button is selected,
even though the student may have completed and submitted the
test on their device. Test data is only retrieved from devices once
this button is selected.
At this point, the button will change to read .
The testing window on the Utility will indicate the number of
completed tests that were received. Wait until this number equals

The test will disappear from the listing on the device Test tab and
each student device will display a pop up indicating that the test has
been received. Student scores and numbers of correct answers will
also be displayed.
Note on Test Statistics
Both the Results and Performance tabs on the student devices will only reflect student and class data after the
instructor has clicked on . Up to that point, the Results and Performance tabs will show a
0%. Once the instructor ends the in-class test and the submitted tests are graded, the Results and Performance tabs
will populate with information on student and class performance.
If Free Response questions were included in the test and the instructor has opted to hand grade these questions,
the student’s score will indicate that those questions have yet to be graded.

Take-Home Tests
A take-home test differs from an in-class test in that the student devices are connected to the session to receive the
test, disconnected from it to take and submit the test and then are reconnected to a new session in order to turn in
the test to the Utility. Take-home tests can either be timed or untimed. Multiple take-home tests can be transmitted
to the students in a single session.
Each time a take-home test is distributed, a copy of the test (questions and answers list) is automatically saved to a
default location (My Documents) in the computer running the iResponse Utility. This ensures that the instructor is
able to retrieve the test results upon opening a new session.
My Documents > iResponse Tests
Note: All tests (question and answer sets) will be automatically named by the Utility. The name of the test will be
the same as the session name when it was created. In other words, if a test is created during the following session
– Art History 12, but was opened and transmitted to students during session – Art History 13, the test will be called
Art History 12, both on the devices and in the iResponse Tests folder in My Documents.

Starting a Take-Home Test
A take-home test is distributed in nearly the same way as an in-class test.
The instructor begins as class session and opens (or creates) a list of questions. Refer to chapters 3 and 4 for
instructions on starting a session and creating question lists. Once all student devices have connected to the
session, click on ‘Testing...Distribute test..’
The following window will appear. For a take-home test, click on the ‘Take-home Test’ tab.
Note that the instructor can delineate a time limit for students to complete the take-home test by selecting the
‘Time limit of...’ box and setting a time limit in minutes.
Click on . The button will change to
. The number of tests successfully distributed
over the network will be displayed in the iResponse Testing
window.
The active question set will be sent in its entirety to all
connected devices. Each student device connected to the
session will receive an alert that a test has been transmitted
and the app will automatically switch to the Tests tab.
Page 30 iResponse PRO User Guide
The students can now disconnect from the Utility and take the test and the insructor can click ; end
the session and close/quit from the Utility. Refer to the ‘Starting an In-Class Test’ section above for instructions on
how students retrieve and take tests on their devices.
If the instructor has set a time limit for the take-home test, the clock will start as soon as the student taps
to start the test. The time remaining for the student to complete the test will be visible in the bar at the bottom of
the device screen. Students may suspend a take home test by closing the app (see page 16 for instructions) then
resuming the test later at their convenience. The timer will resume upon recommencing the test.
Ending and Receiving a Take-Home Test
When the instructor is ready to receive the take-home tests from the student devices, reopen the iResponse Utility
and start an active class session.
For best results, instruct students to completely close the iResponse app before connecting to the session and
handing in their tests (see page 16 for instructions).
Instruct students to reopen the iResponse app on their devices by tapping on the app icon on their device’s home
screen. Instruct students to connect to the active class session.
From the Utility, select ‘Testing’ from the menu bar. Click on ‘Receive finished
tests...’
The Testing window will reappear. Click on .
This will automatically open the default iResponse Tests folder window. Select the test that you wish to collect. Click
.
Page 31iResponse PRO User Guide
The window will close and you will be returned to the iResponse Testing window. All tests on student devices with
the same file name that you selected above will automatically be collected, regardless of whether the tests have
been completed or submitted. The iResponse Testing window will indicate the number of tests received. Press
when you have received all tests. Student results will automatically populate in the
iResponse Statistics and iResponse Answers windows (see chapter 5) .
Note: Ensure that students have completed and submitted their tests prior to clicking on the
button as take home tests will be retrieved by the Utility whether completed or not.
The test will disappear from the listing in the device Test tab and each student device will display a pop up indicating
that the test has been received. Student scores and numbers of correct answers will also be displayed. (See ‘Ending
and Receiving In-Class Tests’ above for more information.)
If you are collecting more than one test, you can repeat the process by clicking on
again and opening the file of the next test to be collected. Print, save and export any statistic information prior to
retrieving the next test as the data will be replaced once new test data is retrived.

Note on Test Statistics
Both the Results and Performance tabs on the student devices will only reflect student and class data after the
take-home test has been handed in. Up to that point, the Results and Performance tabs will show a 0%. Once the
take-home test has been received and the tests are graded, the Results and Performance tabs will populate with
information on student and class performance, if the instructor enabled this feature in the iResponse Connect
window.
If Free Response questions were included in the test and the instructor has opted to hand grade these questions,
the student’s score will indicate that those questions have yet to be graded. The Performance and Results tabs on
the devices will continue to show these answers as being incorrect until they are hand graded by the instructor.

7 Transferring Question Sets
To transfer question sets to a computer different from the one used to create them on, the questions and image files
must be moved separately to the new computer. This will enable the images to display properly once the question
sets are opened in the iResponse Utility on the new computer.
First, copy or move the question set from the location where it was saved. Note that for tests, a copy of the question
set file is saved in My Documents > iResponse Tests. The transfer can be done through uploading to an email file or
online data storage site, or by copying the file to an external storage device (thumb drive, CD, etc).
Next, copy the image files associated with the question set to an external storage device, or upload them to an email
or data storage site. If there are multiple image files, it may be easier to create a new folder and copy and paste the
images into that new folder prior to transferring them.
From My Documents > iResponse Images, locate the image files by session name.
Note: See page 7 on the importance of selecting a unique Session Name.
Page 34 iResponse PRO User Guide
On the destination computer, paste or download the question set file to a location where other iResponse question
sets are stored.
Paste or download the folder containing the images to any location on the destination computer, such as the
Desktop. Open the folder containing the images and copy the individual image files.
Open the My Documents folder, find and open the iResponse Images folder. Paste the individual image files into
that folder.
Open the question set. See page 15 for instructions on opening saved question sets. The questions and their
associated images should display properly. If the images do not appear in the questions, check to ensure that the
image files are individually stored in the iResponse Images folder in My Documents. They should not be in a stand
alone folder within the iResponse Images folder.
