Summoner Spells

You will almost always want to

take these. Ignite for extra

damage and healing reduction,and Flash for securing kills,

getting away, and doing tons of

other things with it.

If you're going up against a strong pusher, you may

want to grab Teleport, which is also useful for split

pushing. Ghost is another escape spell, but ipersonally don't like it because you can still be slowed or

cc'ed before you fully get away. If you're new to

Irelia, Heal can help with survivability and escaping

sticky situations.

Standard Runes here, Armor penetration is great for all stages of the game,

ensuring that early armor wont completely shut you down. this works

great with your Hiten Style as you can deal amazing damage to targets

regardless of the amount of armor they are building. I also recommend

Greater Mark of Attack Damage for better damage and Bladesurge

farming.

SEALS

Again, Standard here. Almost 100% of the opponents you will face in top

lane will be either AD, Hybrid, or constantly want to poke you with auto

attacks. The only runes i would reccomend changing these out for are

Greater Seal of Scaling Health.

GLYPHS

Ok, some people like to use Greater Glyph of Magic Resist (flat), but the

way i see it, these runes become more effective then flat runes at about

level 8-9, and you useualy wont be roaming down to mid until aroundlevels 12-13, which compleatly defeats the purpose of having flat MR. you

can still take flat Mr, bur I only use them when im facing an Ap top.

QUINTS

Standard here, and here is why: Some my ask, why not more armor

penetration, but imagine this, you take both armor penetration marks and

quints, YES, you will get more penetration, but if you dont have enough

attack damage, you wont get nearly as much damage as you would half

and half, as your max damage is low with only penetration.

So ive been running this new page recently and i really like it. It allows you to get a lot of hitten style procs off and

sustain through the alne very well, the problem is ap champions will be doing more damage if you dont take mr

blues, so adjust accordingly.

For Irelia, i use 14 / 16 / 0 masteries mainly. This helps her Tankyness well still maintaining enought ad for lane

Alright, this is where I will explain all my items to you, as well as listing some alternate items

Best boots in the game Imo. Tenacity is just to good to miss out on. Being

CC'ed? Mercury's Treads. Mages bursting you down? Mercury's

Treads. You wanna have good looking boots? Mercury's Treads.

One of the best staring item's in the game. I personaly like to grab 2 of

these on my First or Second back. Of corse we sell these later, but the

health and attack damage they give along with the 5 health regained every

auto attack its just too good to not grab. if you dont want to grab these, I

reccomend grabbing Sheen before Wit's End to compensate for your

lack of damage.

Wit's End is a great item for an assassin. Just think, 40% attack speed

and bonus magic damage to your auto attacks. Now add 75 true damage

from Hiten Style, and about 150 bonus damage from Trinity Force..

and you have got about 250 extra damage in on hit effects. the bonus MR is

great as you should focus the ADC, which means the APC will most likely be

throwing **** in your face.

Trinity Force is an amazing item. gives you TONS OF DAMAGE . but

really, its just amazing. The Sheen proc will activate on your

Bladesurge, making for a huge chunk of initial burst damage. The slow from

Phage can also proc on Bladesurge, making for a huge portion of

damage and effects on you dive. also, it gives you some ability power and

attack damage to buff up every source of damage you have. if you dont get

this, you can GTFO!

Alright, this is where your most likely going to be saying "Gee... i was going

to upvote this but why Blade of the Ruined King? Here's my answer,

Blade of the Ruined King gives 40 AD and 10% LS which isn't much, but

here comes the kicker. 4% of the opponents current health and half of that

bonus damage goes into the heal. Now, most people will have about 2300

health, usually more. 4% of 2300 is about 92, add that on to 40 ad, andthat's 132 Ad in damage, with 42 LS onto your already huge amount of

health recovered. Of course it wont always be this massive, because armor is

an a$$. The slow is great for catching people, or healing yourself when both

you and your opponent are low.

This item is just great for shutting down the enemy AD's and also gives the

nice passive of a movement speed debuff. You'll find it super useful in your

fights against the enemy AD carry. Make sure to learn the range of its active!

Also, grabbing a Warden's Mail mid game can help when diving an enemy

team.

I've come to love this item after playing a few games with it and now i

almost see it as a better choice over Blade of the Ruined King if you need

the damage. One of the best things about this item is that you can have

your choice of boots because you will get tenacity from this. One thing that

makes this item q little questionable to me is that your not getting any life-

steal, something that Blade of the Ruined King gives you, which can be

trouble in teamfights if you want to smash multiple people.

Do I really need to explain? makes you beefy, gives you a second life, looks

awesome. This can save your face many times. You may want to sell this

late game if you have already burned its revive, as you most likely wont get

the revive charge back up and other items provide better utility and

tankyness.

I'll expand a "Situatonal Items" Chapter later, but i have more important sections to work on right now.

items (Tanky)

This Came to my attention because i realized many people enjoy building Irelia tanky, so i decided to make a

section purely about tanky items.

Warmogs Armor

This mean green item has become one of the most popular items in S3.

After penetration and armor were changed, heath has now become more

cost efficent! What does this mean? it means that Resistances < Health so

this item has become amazing. 1000 health and % hp regeneration make

this a great choice if your having trouble with strong enemy damage

Sunfire Cape

This is one of the best tank items in the game. Its ability to make youalmost invincible to Melee ADs is just... broken. In addition to the wonderful

health and armor it gives you, You also get the awesome damage aura!

being pushed? Sunfire Cape will make it almost impossible for them to

push if you use it right. Okay, with all these amazing stats there has to be

a down fall right? Consider yourself warned. if you misuse this item, you

will end up pushing your lane like a maniac without even attacking. this

definitely has a learning curb, but i highly suggest learning how to use it.

Frozen Mallet

On almost any off tank this item is great. but i have a few probelms with it.

First off, its quite expensive and you can get more health from Warmog's

Armor and the ad it gives is puny. Secondly the only items you could swap it

out for are Trinity Force or Randuin's Omen. both are big no-nos,

trinity being massively core and randuins adding to your anti-carry potential,

this makes me see it being "not worth it". Lastly, if you decide to grab this

AND Trinity Force, then your wasting money due the fact that Trinity

Force builds out of Phage, and its a huge red flag if you have 2 Phage-

based items, because it just takes away from 1 item and get you just a little

bit better passive on the other. Oh, and dont come crying to me saying "i

didnt buy triforce so i didnt waste money with mallet but i fed!". like i said,

trinity is core, you shouldnt take it out.

Blade of the ruined king rush

VS +

So lately i have been seeing a lot of Irelia's rushing Blade of the Ruined King right away in lane, and i just

want to share my thoughts on that. Personally, i think that Its better to go for a Bilgewater Cutlass followed byTrinity Force before then getting your Blade of the Ruined King and proceeding on to get further into your

item build. The reasons that i would bypass a full bork and go for only a cutlass, is because it leaves you rather

squishy and if the enemy builds armor your damage is going to be rather pitiful. Once you get your Bilgewater

Cutlass, you cover all of your sustain and can proceed to build for the rest of your weakness's by building Trinity

Force.

Match-ups

This section will be compleated whenever i feel like working on it, i'll start with Aatrox and end with Zed

going through all viable top laners.

5/10: a good Aatrox can be a bit of a problem, bur most Aatroxs are

clueless and really dont now how to play him against an Irelia. For

starters his sustain is pretty much even with yours, but he has to burn

health to use his spells, so you out sustain him slightly. In a duel, try to fight

him only when you have your Hiten Style activated so that you can heal

faster then him. When trading with him, try to leave the fight when he has

his Blood Price primed on the next attack, this leaves him with a lot of

damage not used, and will win you the trade. Aside from that, dodge his

Dark Flight and Blades of Torment. And be careful when he has his

passive ready.

2/10 Easiest lane of your life, you compleatly eclipse all of her damage and

out sustain her throught out the entire game. She has almost no pushing

potential and she will barly be able to scratch you. Once she hits 6 she can

become a little bit more of a problem, but you should be 100% fine.

6/10 Wow, someone who can match your sustain? Too bad you can out

trade him. Now this can be kind of hard, he will get health, and that counters

yout true damage, but it shouldnt be hard to simply farm up untill late game,if he misses his Rupture, all in him and freeze lane so he cant sustain

back up, once you get Blade of the Ruined King you can wreck him.

7/10 He cant sustain at all, and thats literally your only advantage, his

Crippling Strike will mess you up, and he has the ability to straight up

demolish you throughout most of the lane, and once he hits 6 you better be

ready because he goes from hitting like a truck to hitting like a train.

Definitly consider building an early giants belt to avoid getting pubstomped.

In lane... what do you do?

Alright, so your in lane, hopefully not agianst a Jax, so what do you do? There are a few answers do this which

for the most part can all be done at the same time.

-Ward-Farm creeps

-Dont push lane

-Push when laner is dead

-Call Mias/ss/mis

-Dont Overextend

-Be Happy

-Dont feed

-Trade Well

WIN THE ******* LANE

Farming Expectations

Oh Hell No (-100)

100 is preatty bad, you most likely

wont get far in the build and wont

have the pure stomping power that

Irelia can get. If your a level 30

and you get this, you must be high

(joke). But honestly, Irelia has

one of the best farming kits in the

game, use that to your advantage.

Even if your a lower level, getting

past 100 should be about normal.

Meh (100-150)

Decent, but i would be much better to go higher. 150 is fine, you will

have good killing power, get preaty far in your build, and get

reasonably fed. Still, higher is better (Hue Hue Hue), for a lower level,

your doing great, and keeping this up till 30 is awesome. For level

30's, this is preatty good, You will most likely get a decent elo

(1300), and live a happy life.

YES!(150-200)

This is your goal, get 200 cs, win lane, win games, get a ranked team, win the world championship, give a bunch of

credit to me... OK, getting 200 cs is great, you will win lane and games with this. a farmed Irelia can carry a

team, so carry your team!

Milestones

10 Minutes By 10 minutes you should hope to have

about 65-80 CS. you may be saying, "why so high if im

aiming for 200?" here's the answer; early game there

wont be much aggression, junglers will be trying to get

there ganking skills and boots, no one will be roaming

which means you can focus on last hitting rather then

being overly cautious.

20 Minutes Once you hit the 20 minute mark

hope you have about 150 farm. now, that's a

little less then the 10 minute mark. but at this

point you may have roamed down mid once or

twice, gotten ganked a few times, as well as had

your own jungler gank too, which means just

less time to farm, and sometimes you may be

forced to push.

40+ minutes Now this is where teamfights start. you will be fighting with your team to get objectives and push

lanes. what does this mean? you wont get much farm, but i still expect you to get 200, you just have to be ready

for those idle moments where there's always a wave of minions to go kill. Overall, just keep an open eye for waves

of minions pushing up your lanes.

Early game

Early game is Boring. All you should attempt to do is farm up yourself and not die early. Once you grab your

Doran's Blade(s), you should look to either push your lane and check the Blue's blue buff, or try to start a fight if

your opponent hasn't recalled to get his next items. remember to buy a sight ward and 1 or 2 Health Potions on

your first recall.

Middle game

Okay, this is where the fun starts. Hopefully you have your Wit's End and Trinity Force and starting on your

Blade of the Ruined King. Now that you have some more power, look to make an aggresive push or come down

to mid and help out with dragon. Somethings you may want to try to get done: 1. Push out top tower, as this

helps your whole team in securing dragon and other lanes. Also look to gank bot or mid if your jungler is busy, this

really takes stress off of them. The last thing you should look to do is check out the enemy buffs and see if you can

grab them for your team.


What to do in teamfights

In Team fights, your Goal is to smash the enemy adc/apc with your insane damage. one this has been achieved,

take out the other carry, and any other high damage opponents.sadly, theres not much more to say, as i cant

really explain anything else, watch some videos...
