Ireland! Crossing Borders and Building Bridges 5500:480 (Undergrad)/5500:592 (Grad) This is an off-campus course for those who want to investigate the process of individual and social development through expeditionary learning. We will focus on research around the meanings of democracy, concepts of leadership, and choosing to act as vehicles to deepen knowledge about our own personal histories and the histories of those we encounter on our trip. Come explore Irish history and culture in context with us on this two-country adventure, from ancient stone circles of the Republic of Ireland to the political wall murals of Northern Ireland. Who: All graduate and undergraduate majors. Dublin and Environs (1916 Tour, Phoenix Park, Trinity College and Book of Kells, Glasnevin Cemetery, Croke Park, Newgrange) Belfast and Environs (Falls Road Mural Tour, Peace Wall, Queens University) Galway and Ennis (The Burren, Cliffs of Moher, Aran Islands) When: May 25 through June 5, 2020 Pre-Trip Sessions: Saturday, April 25, 2020; Tuesday, May 5, 2020 Post-Trip Session & Project Sharing: TBA Total Cost: 13 days for approximately $1,800 not including airfare and tuition.
