IRDAM Military Automatic Weather Sensors are a concentration of high technology and mechanical precision engineering.

● New wind head protection. The new wind head protection (patented) minimizes strongly the influence caused by wind turbulence. This new protection gives an improvement of the measure on all the range, for wind speed and wind direction. This new wind head protection minimizes greatly the effects of wind disturbance on the wind sensor. The new helicoidal protection allows to reduce the algorithms corrections and smooth the disturbances caused by the wind head protection evenly.

● Integration of a compass. Addition of a compass giving the wind direction to the magnetic North. The addition of an integrated compass is a real added value for NBC recce vehicles. Thanks to its electronic compass, the wind direction is always indicated related to magnetic North, regardless of the position and orientation of the vehicle during measurements. NBC specialists have immediately a clear and precise vision of the wind direction for their analysis of the evolution of the biological or chemical situation, and can take the necessary measures to protect or inform their own troops or civilian population.

● Integration of a compass and GPS. Addition of the geographical coordinates to the measured data’s. In addition to the compass, some models also have a GPS receiver. This is an invaluable help because it allows during missions commitments, trainings or AAR (After Action Review) to link the measurement data's to geographic coordinates.

● Decontamination possibility. The new provision of the various sensors allows decontamination and authorizes a faster replacement (even during mission) on critical parts and a much more effective maintenance. When speaking of NBC detection vehicles, decontamination is an essential point and should not be overlooked. The MAWS models, was designed to withstand decontamination products. During a decontamination phase, only two elements of protection need to be replaced. This swap can be done locally, even on the vehicle itself, by logistics soldiers or by trained specialists of decontamination units. A very short time is enough to make the sensor operational again for the next mission.

● Swiss made. Swiss quality Build as a top high quality Swiss watch, each MAWS contains more than 500 pieces of components and parts. This represents a subtle blend of high-tech precision mechanics and electronics of the latest generation. Each model is produced and tested individually. IRDAM is well known by his customers for the respect of delivery dates. Beside the quality and respect of the delivery, IRDAM has only a very low ratio of return for repair (< 1%).

● Lower price. MAWS models integrates sub elements and electronic components of last generation. Customers can benefit from a more favorable purchase price. The MAWS6056 belongs to a product family which includes a total of 6 different models. As some sub elements or mechanical part are similar, it was possible to reduce the final price of the products. The use of latest-generation electronics guarantee lower price supplies and minimize the risk of obsolescence. These cost savings are reflected on our sales prices to the benefit of our customers.

● MAWS and TEMPEX are in conformity with MIL 810F and 461F. Our products are certified according to the latest standards in force. They are also compliant with REACH and RoHS 2002/95/EC regulations. We pay great importance to ensure that our products meet the standards evolution. This is a guarantee for our customers to get IRDAM up to date standardized products. Certified our products according to the latest standards allows us to remain at the forefront of technology.

● 3 years factory warranty. Shows the confidence we have in our products. Since the market introduction of the series MAWS 6056, the duration of our factory warranty was increased by one year. Our products now have 3 years of factory warranty. This was possible thanks to the new design of our products. We also have introduced as option, an extension of our factory warranty. This are blocks of 3 additional years and includes a recalibration at IRDAM factory. This can be repeated 3 times, giving a factory warranty duration of 12 years in total.



IRDAM Military Automatic Weather Sensors

● Better heat dissipation. Subsequent to the internal reorganization of the various sensors and elements of the MAWS, the external heat generated from the roof of the vehicle, has no influence on the environmental measures. Having modified the positions of electronic components and environmental sensors (humidity-pressure-temperature) from the bottom to the top of the weather sensors allowed us to reduce the influence of heat from the metallic parts of the vehicle. The heat dissipation induced by our circuits and sub elements is better controlled and dissipated. The life of the MAWS is increased.

● Compatible for 5056/5156 retrofit. All MAWS models are produced so they are compatible with our previous products. Integration costs during upgrades are greatly reduced. All products of the MAWS series have the same mechanical interfaces as our earlier products. During an upgrade, there will be no mechanical changes to do on the vehicle, when replacing an old model 5056 or 5156 with a current model. For the end customer, the upgrade of the weather sensor is faster and less expensive.
