EASY TO CLEANThe IR520 disassembles quickly, resulting inrobust stainless steel parts which can beaggressively cleaned without fear of damage.All components are designed with smoothaccessible corners and without product catching ledges. Thorough inspection is aseasy as reassembly of the components. Anoptional wash-in-place system is available toeliminate dust exposure during dissasemblyand prior to thorough cleaning.

FREE-STANDING OR PORTABLEThe IR520 can be installed as a self-contained,free-standing or portable machine. All technicalcomponents are enclosed and isolated from theprocess area. All controls are separate from themachine and also totally portable.

PRODUCT CONTAINMENT SYSTEM AND N2 INERT PROCESSINGThe Product Containment System (PCS) is designed tofully contain all product in the process and receiver sections of the Chilsonator system. A sealed connectionbetween the equipment discharge and the receiver ispossible due to the unique filters and vacuum system.

Advantages include:

• Minimal product exposure to operator and environment

• Prevents product contamination• Minimal product loss

The PCS can be combined with an N2 inerting system to reduce product oxygen exposure and explosion risks.

LOW CAPACITY FEED SYSTEMThis optional system allows for processing as little as 50 grams,and up to 2 Kg., with minimal loss. This feature is ideally suited

for research and development requirements. Results can be usedto scale up to the standard IR520 or larger machines.

THE IR520 can be configured with numerous features and options in order to process a widevariety of applications. Installing these customizedfeatures is easy since most components disassemblewith hand fasteners.

VARIOUS ROLL SURFACES AVAILABLEThe cantilever design allows for easy changing andinstallation of a variety of roll designs. This conve-nient feature makes the IR520 ideal for laboratory and small production installations.

VACUUM DEAERATIONCompaction can be difficult for materials thathave a low bulk density and a tendency to entrain air. These characteristics can causeproducts to resist pre-compaction and deaerationthat is required in order to allow the rolls to efficiently compact the material.

A vacuum deaeration system can be applied atvarious locations prior to compaction in order toprovide improved pre-densification by forciblyremoving entrained gas from within the product.Process improvements can be dramatic. Forexample, a vacuum deaeration system, in somecases, has increased the Chilsonator capacity byup to nine times and improved compaction efficiency by up to 40%.

PROCESS EFFICIENCY&AUTOMATION

Controls are designed to meet customer specified classifications and standards. This includes special options such as explosion-proof executionand special voltage requirements.

PRECISE SIZE REDUCTION OF COMPACTED PRODUCTSThe mill is selected and configured to meet the desiredparticle distribution. Selectable operating parametersinclude rotor type, screen type and operating speeds.

BIN-TO-BIN PROCESSINGFeeding material from an initial product bin,through the Chilsonator and FitzMill, and into aproduct receiver bin is a typical Chilsonatorinstallation. Advantages include:

• Totally enclosed product

• Convenient unattended processing

• Simple connection and retrieval of product bins

PNEUMATIC FEEDINGMaterial can be charged into the Chilsonatorfeed hopper from ground level by utilizing apneumatic conveyor, either manually with a wand, or automatically dumped from a bininto a pneumatic conveyor pick-up hopper. This provides a simple, cleanable method of delivering material to the Chilsonator.

CHILSONATOR SYSTEMS can be configured to meetspecific product and process requirements. In most applica-tions, the product that is compacted by the Chilsonator mustbe granulated to a uniform particle size distribution. Thiscan be most efficiently achieved with the FitzMill granulator.Addition of a screener, conveyors, and feeder depend uponsystem objectives and installation requirements.

RECYCLE SYSTEMTypical compaction/granulation system including screening and recycling of oversand fines. This system configuration is used for eliminating essentially all fines andovers from the product.
