MOBILE : IR.21 ROAMPULSE™

When you submit an updated IR.21 to your International Gateway Provider, you expect the updates to be completed seamlessly and immediately, detecting missing Global Titles (GT) on Return path STP, TDM or SIGTRAN links. Yet the location update can fail if your GTs are not provisioned correctly on the STP tables. That means you’ll see location update failures, and inbound roamers won’t be able to use voice or SMS services on your network.

THE INFORMATION YOU NEED, WHEN YOU NEED ITRoamPulse™ allows your quality assurance and network monitoring teams to check for high volumes of failed authentication requests for all inbound roamers. You can configure proactive alarms to alert you about any specific spike in failures each time you make any update to your IR.21. You can also use RoamPulse™ to monitor specific operators with the terminating GT detail of the roaming partners’ HLR, where the ‘Mobile Application Part’ (MAP*) failures are identified as ‘Time Outs’.*Note: MAP is the SS7 Signaling protocol that ensures that the various nodes in GSM and GPRS networks can communicate with each other. MAP accesses the HLR, VLR, MSC, Equipment Identity Register, Authentication Centre, SMSC and SGSN.

DETECTING MISSING GTS ON STP Your quality assurance or network monitoring teams can use RoamPulseTM to validate IR.21 updates and detect missing GTs on STP. That enhances the quality of experience for inbound roamers, and enables you to earn more revenue accordingly.

SPECIFICALLY, YOUR TEAMS CAN:• Check failed Authentication Requests for all, or just for specific Mobile Network Operators

• Focus on failures where ‘Term GT’ is identified as your roaming partners’ HLR

• Detect missing GTs in your roaming partners’ STP

RoamPulse™ from Tata Communications can solve the problem, pinpointing the failures and enabling you to respond – every time you make any update to your IR.21.

Quality Assurance – validate IR.21 updates:

• Failed Authentication Requests for ALL,or specific MNO

• Split where ‘Term GT’ = your RP’s HLRs

• MAP Error = Time Outs

• Detect missing GTs in RP’s STP
