Knowledge Management System (KMS) refers to a system (generally IT based) for managing knowledge in organizations for

supporting the creation, capture, storage and dissemination of information.

I. What is it?

The IPO AMERICAS KMS will:

• create a networks of participants;

•enhance the sharing of information;

•capture knowledge from projects, assignments, case studies, experts

etc.;

•collect important documents;

•develop an active database.

II. What is its purpose?

The platform’s access is restricted to those who have a password: National Focal Points, UNICRI and OAS/CICTE responsible staff. This is to guarantee a certain level of privacy and security. However, it is possible to decide to let other selected entities involved in major

events to have access to the entire system or select areas.
