This tip is useful for the times you receive a document1 and want a PDF version of (provides
simpler reading, use, etc.) the native document format.
To summarize the necessary steps, I used a sample Excel 2007 file (a basic .xlsx format) that
includes conditional formatting.
STEPS:
1. Receive file on the iPad. Get the file, in native format, into your GoodReader document
library (send from your email account (or upload, etc)).
2. From GoodReader, upload document to your Google Docs account (Google Docs should
be set up as a “server” in Goodreader and you access it by tapping “Connect to Servers”
at the bottom right on the Goodreader screen.
3. Go to Safari, open your Google account (Gmail, etc.) and access the “Docs” section.
4. By default, the screen will be set for the “Mobile” view. Change this view to the
“Desktop” view (option located at very bottom of screen).
5. Open document that you previously uploaded from GoodReader. The image below
shows the Excel 2007 file I tested as an example.
6. Change the document View to the “Spreadsheet View”. Screenshot is on the next page.
1 “Document” includes typical Microsoft format files, such as .doc, .docx, .xls, .xlsx, etc.

7. “Save” the document as a PDF. Select File --> Download As --> PDF. See screenshot

8. The PDF will open in the Safari browser and you simply tap “Open in GoodReader”. If
the navigation screen does not appear, tap document to display it.
9. Once GoodReader opens, rename the PDF file (through the “Manage Files” menu) and
move the file, if applicable, to the desired folder in GoodReader.
