of their department / division and anyone who need to take informed financial decision.
Approach and Solution
We Start with Research; the right question is half the answer
We started with client interviews and research, wherein we conducted in-house interviews to get a sense of user
experience and expectation in terms of dashboard usage. We also researched other online related dashboard as well
as data visualization sites. This exercise gave us a surprising amount of valuable input in just few days.
USER PERSONA
To have a better understanding and insight into the nature of the target group,
we created personas, customer archetypes that proved to be of great value while
developing customer centered design and branding.
User Research Personas Scenarios User Journeys
SIMPLIFIED USER JOURNEY MAP
In order to take a sweeping, holistic approach to the design of the Dashboard interface, we first understood the user’s
journey; we documented this research as a “Journey Map.” This highlighted the gaps in the journey and discrepancies
between the first-generation product and the new envisioned approach.
Getting to know the Dashboard Market We started with a few workshops, with subject matter experts, to get to know their vision for the Dashboard, the
associated data and general business goals. After plenty of brainstorming and whiteboards full of sketches and notes,
sketches were eventually turned into low-fidelity wireframes, which helped to define the underlying functionality and
various use-cases of the application.
Wireframe Usablity Testing Iterative Cycle Visual Design
Low fidelity wireframe (Paper prototype)
By quickly testing the low-fidelity wireframes and concept with in-house and with real users, we got valuable feedback
from potential users of the product. Over the initial design period, our iterations served through various
configurations, they also helped envision new ways to coagulate the data and content together.
Design & Development Making charts beautiful, fun and easy to understand
Next step was to design and code based on the approved wireframes. The pace that was demanded by the tight
timeframe kept everything feeling electric, and as the designs and code began to take shape, we could see a joint
vision come to life.
Digital dashboards provide management team with a detailed overview of company performance, allowing them to
initiate decisions swiftly. We developed these dashboards which have the capacity to:
- Drill down results from summary to segments, or even to single data points for easy alignment
- Filter results across disparate data sources for comprehensive analysis
- Highlight results across different views to find relationships in your data
- Show visual and numerical information simultaneously for pattern identification and detailed reading
- Strip down tasks to make them as user-centric as possible, so users can really focus on the business issues
and allow the software to get out of the way
- Dashboard which is really the ease of creating new visualizations. The fact that you spend most of the time
not on the data itself, but, rather, on what is the data telling you about the business problem.
- Easy-to-use, accessible and readily integrated with existing systems.
Benefits - Converts complex, detailed data into manageable and easily consumable information, in a user -friendly
format.
- Allows for multiple levels of reporting, including executive-level dashboard views and standard reports with
drill-down capabilities and heat-map functionalities.
- Reduces the time and effort associated with ongoing report production while accelerating delivery
timelines.
- Creates measurable performance improvements through proactive management of both positive and
negative trends and events.
