The Indigenous Peoples RightsAct ( IPRA) of 1997 has mandatedthe National Commission onIndigenous Peoples (NCIP) toformulate a Five Year MasterPlan . Based on the AncestralDomain Sustainable

Development and ProtectionPlans (ADSDPP) of the variousIndigenous CulturalCommunities/Indigenous Peoples

(ICCs/IPs) and other relevantinformation.

GOALS AND OBJECTIVES OF THEIPMAP

The IP Master Plan shall be consistentwith the IPRA, its goal is to contribute to

the attainment of social justice andhuman development in the Philippinesthrough poverty alleviation. The sectoralobjective is to empower indigenouspeoples in the Philippines for therecognition, protection and promotion of their rights and welfare.
