Hands-free Classroom Intercom*

This IP system integrates with VoIP to create an intercom connection. Office staff may make a phone call to any classroom on the phone network. 1 The staff member’s voice will play through the mounted ceiling speakers in the classroom.

Teachers may respond by speaking towards a third-party wall plate. 2 Using the MS-450 amplifier’s full-duplex audio or a network interface, this system creates a complete hands-free intercom system for teachers.

Note: Both the MS-450 and network interface have generic I/O inputs for third-party integration.

School Paging SystemUsing an IP paging microphone 1

or a VoIP phone, 2 office staff can deliver verbal announcements or instructions throughout the school with the touch of a button. Pages play through classroom 3 and hallway IP speakers, 4 which connect to the network via the MS-450 amplifier or network interface.

You can also set up paging zones, allowing announcements to be heard in select classrooms or hallways.

Bells and AlertsUsing the same IP connections as the school paging system, authorized personnel may use their computers 1 to set up customized bell schedules and prerecorded audio alerts that can sound in every classroom 2 and hallway 3 throughout the school.

When needed, customized paging zones can be used to handpick where the bells or alerts are played. This is a great tool to help avoid interruptions during standardized testing.

Classroom Audio SystemsThis IP system can also be used as a classroom audio system. Teachers and students use microphones 1 to distribute their voices evenly throughout the classroom. 2 The microphones include auxiliary ports for connectivity to media sources.

SAFE IntegrationThis IP system comes complete with the equipment you’ll need to implement the SAFE System (Security Alert For Education). The SAFE System puts discreet alert buttons in the front office and on teacher microphones. 1

Pressing the button transmits an alert through the SAFE Controller over the network 2 and to a first responder’s office, email, mobile phone, and MS-1000. 3 Alerts come with location and time information, and a flashing and audible notification on the MS-1000. First responders may access a live audio stream to appraise the situation before entry. Where cameras are installed, 4 they may also view a

live video stream. When appropriate, first responders can speak directly in the classroom with the teacher.

All MS-450s and network interfaces have additional I/O connections that allow for integration with third party safety inputs such as fire alarms. 5
