The IOF is made up of the national orienteering federations which have been admitted to membershipAmongst its members, the IOF is the supreme authority on all matters relating to international orienteeringThe IOF is recognised by the International Olympic Committee (IOC)The IOF is registered in Helsinki, Finland

IOF Council

The IOF Council shall lead the IOF between General AssembliesMembers are elected by the IOF General Assembly

President, senior vice president, 2 vice presidents, total 9 members

Election period 2 yearsPolitical and strategic lead of IOF

All decisions must be published by the CouncilCommittees can only propose/recommend to the Council

IOF General Assembly

Ordinary or ExtraordinaryEach IOF full member shall have the right to send three delegates to a General Assembly. Delegates shall be citizens or residents of the country represented. Associate members may send up to two representatives.Each full member represented at the General Assembly shall have one vote.
