Invitrogen Custom Primer Ordering Guide

This guide describes how to order custom primer in Lifetechnologies Japan website. Before

ordering primers, you need to create Lifetehnologies user account. Chapter 1 describes to

create user account. After finishing registration, you can place order primers through

Lifetechnologies website.

1. New customer registration and log into your account

Go to Lifetechnoloigies website http://www.lifetechnologies.com/

When you access Lifetechnologies website in Japan, you see Japanese flag .

If country is not Japan, you can change county.

Click ”Order Support” .

Click ”Change location)”.

Click “>Japan|日本”.

You can change language to use a pull-down menu at the bottom right. We have not finished

Japanese translation yet and there are a lot of pages only Japanese. Sorry for the

inconvenience.

Before you place order primers, you have to log into your account first.

Point the cursor to サインインする and click ログイン. If you don’t have web order account,

click ”ここから開始します” to create new account.

Enter user account as Email address and password, then click サインイン. You can store user

account and password to click □ on the left of ”保存する” When you forget username or

password, click ”サインインにお困りですか？” or”パスワードをお忘れですか？” and follow

the instruction.

After login to your account, you can see your name.

New customer registration

You can register new customer registration on website. Enter email address which is used as

login ID. Marked (*) columns are essential for new customer registration. After you submit

registration on website, you will receive auto-reply email to receive new registration first. Then

after completion of customer registration by Lifetetechnoloigies Japan, you receive mail again

about completion of new customer registration of your account from us. When you submit

new customer registration by 4pm on weekends, you will receive mail about completion of

new customer registration and you place order on the same day. When you submit new

customer registration after 4pm or weekend and holidays, you will receive notification mail on

the next business day. After you get notification mail, you can place the order.

Enter email address, password, security question and answer. Marked (*) columns are essential

for new customer registration. This email address will be the username for your account, as

well as the destination for order-related emails. We recommend Password

Strength is high as green line.

Select “はい” or “いいえ” whether to receive membership email. Then read Life Technologies

General Terms & Conditionsand Terms of Use and check and click/check at the left of ”ライフテ

クノロジーズのウェブサイト利用条件および標準販売条件に同意します”.

If you place primer order soon, click “はい、登録を続けます” and continue to enter shipping

information. When you click “いいえ、登録をここで終了します”, only email address as userID is

saved. You can add shipping information at the first primer order.

Enter contact information. Marked (*) columns are essential for new customer registration.

Enter shipping address.

No need to enter account number if you have no information.

Next you select contracted dealer. Select prefecture from pull-down menu and click search. You

see dealer list and select one dealer you will contract. If you know dealer company name, you

entre dealer name in dealer name field and you see selected dealer list.

Decide contract dealer and click○ to select dealer and then click 送信. If you can’t find dealer

name, click “ここをクリックすると”.

Enter dealer name and address. Select Japan in country field.

Select “はい”or “いいえ” in membership benefit field. The You will receive technical updates

from Life Technologies if you select yes. This mail doesn’t contain order information. Customer

s will receive order confirmation email without relation to this selection.

Take a few minutes to read and accept Life Technologies and click □ at the left of I accept after

you accept the Terms and Conditions. Finally click 登録する to register.

You see thank you message as below and you receive auto-reply mail to receive your request. If

you select dealer and enter both ship to address, we start your registration. You receive mail

about completion of user registration within a day when you submit the request by 4pm,

Monday to Friday. If you subimit the request after 4pm or weekend and holidays, you will

receive mail about completion of user registrataion on the following day. If you need urgent

request, please contact us on page 2.

2.How to order custom primers

Go to primer order website as below.

1.Click インビトロジェンカスタムプライマーご注文はこちらから！▶

2.Point the cursor to ライフサイエンス and click カスタムプライマー

3.Point the cursor to オーダー製品 and then click プライマーのご注文.

4.Click”オーダー製品” and then click カスタムプライマー) or ”プライマーのご注文” as

below.

5.Click “ライフサイエンス” and then click Invitrogen™ Custom Oligos).

Click “ご注文” at the right of “カスタム DNA プライマー”

There are 3 procedures for ordering primers.

Basic Entry: Enter one primer sequence at a time.

Upload Entry: Upload multiple sequences using Excel template at once.

Order Plates: For ordering oligos in 96-well plate format.

Basic Entry

Enter primer and necessary information in web. Please note that all fields followed by an

asterisk (*) must be filled in.

Required item: Researcher name, Primer name, Sequence

Select synthesis scale and purification using pull-down menu.

Click 更新をする and check estimated delivery time and primer information such as Tm value

and so on. You also check 3 alternate sequences for your input sequences for input sequence.

Reverse Oligo, Complement Oligo, Reverse Complement Oligo

Click カートに追加する to add primer into cart at the right on the top or bottom right.

To continue order, enter primer and needed information again. To confirm primer information

in cart, click

カートを見に行くか or click shopping cart at the top right.

Click →注文へ進む to continue order processing. Click Primer name or 編集 If you need to

edit primer information.

Confirm your billing and shipping addresses. Note that name fields followed by an asterisk (*)

must be filled in. Enter some characters such as (*) if you don’t know dealer name. Then click

確認を続行>.

If you account has multiple dealer account, you can select dealer from pull-down menu for

each products.

Click 代理店変更.

Select dealer from pull-down menu. After selecting dealers, price in “価格” and “合計” field

automatically with price change.

You can change dealer by each line. Or click カート内すべての品目に適用 if you want to

change dealer for all products.

When you select multiple dealers in one order, you need to confirm billing and shipping

information separately. After you confirmed data first, click continue (1 of 2) to confirm next

information.

Select shipping option. Click□ and place check mark at the left of “全てのオリゴをまとめて出

荷” if you need to ship all oligos together. Then specify dry or liquid for delivery. If you select

“液体”, we will ship primers dissolved in TE buffer. Please keep in mind we prepare primers

based on your selection.

Enter your original order number. You can enter any number, but this field must be filled in.

Enter any characters like (.) even if you don’t need your original order number.

When you have any special instructions to specify the date of delivery, dissolved in water and

so on, click ▼ at the right of “特記事項”. You can see free space as below and send us special

instructions.

After finished entering data, click 確認を続行> at the top or bottom of the right and then

proceed final review screen.

Click 注文する＞ to complete order. Please note that you can’t cancel the order after you

submit order.

Confirm order details as below. You also receive order confirmation email. Please keep in mind

that order number such as 784XXXXX is very important to ask inquiry

Upload entry

There are 2 procedures for upload entry.

1. Spreadsheet Upload

Download Excel template, input order and save, and then upload files.

2. Copy and Paste Upload

Enter order details in template and copy and paste on website directly

1. Spreadsheet Upload

Click ”シーケンステンプレートをダウンロードします。” and download sequence template first.

Refer instruction worksheet to enter orders. Save as Excel workbook (.xlsx) or Excel 97-2003

file (.xls) after entering sequence and necessary information. When you save file as text file,

you select Tube template worksheet first.

Then click ファイルを選択 and choose files you created. After that, click アップロード to

upload files.

After uploading file, turn to next step as below. Marked “●” shows there are no problems for

primer order. Marked “●”+”x” shows this information contains any error and not proceed to

next step and you have to edit and fix detailed information. If you don’t need primers, click 削

除 for each primer. To order additional primers, click 再アップロードする. After preparing all

orders, click カートに追加する and proceed to cart. Continue to order process as guidance on

Page 15-19.

2．Copy/Paste Upload

You can copy contents of row A to G in template file and paste information on website directly.

After pasting information, click 送信 and then you see same screen as above and proceed to

next step. Then continue to order process as guidance on Page 14-19.

4. Plate order

Click プレート注文 to start plate order.

Click “96 ウェルシーケンステンプレート” and download template first. Refer order instructions

in Instruction worksheet. After entering information, save as Excel 97-2003 file (.xls) after

entering sequence and necessary information. When you save file as text file, you have to

select worksheet first of Tube template.

If you need to set any vacant wells, enter “blank” in row D and dot (.) in row F for desired

Row/Column as below.

Click ファイルを選択 and select prepared file. Then click アップロード.

Click plate name or 編集 to confirm order details.

Next step you need screen as below. Marked Same as upload entry, “●”shows there are no

problems for primer order. Marked “●”+”x” shows this information contains any error and not

proceed to next step and you have to edit and fix detailed information. Click ● of each well

to confirm information.

Check primer information. After you edit primer information, click 保存＆戻る at the top or

bottom right and turn to previous screen.

Click、Next to proceed next step.

Select conditions one by one. For well volume, customers can’t select in Japan but check one.

Next select scale, purification, dry/wet and click Next.

Click Next again.

Click Add to Cart to add order to cart.

Turn to cart automatically. When in plate order, there are no delayed information in cart and

click plate name to confirm and edit information as guidance in page 19. Then click →注文へ

進む to proceed order process. Refer to guidance on page 14-19.

4. How to order Value Oligo Value Oligo special discount service Lifetechnologies offer. ¥999 per primer which is 7-30mer

in 40 nmols, desalted and no modification. But it takes 1 more day to receive primers

compared to standard oligo. Select value oligo basic entry or Value oligo upload entry.

Go to primer order site as below.

Then click バリューオリゴ個別注文 or バリューオリゴアップロード注文 to select order method.

Value Oligo Basic Entry

Enter primer and necessary information in web. Please note that all fields followed by an

asterisk (*) must be filled in.

Required item: Researcher name, Primer name, Sequence

Not selectable for synthesis scale and purification when in value oligo order.

Click 更新をする and check estimated delivery time and primer information such as Tm value

and so on. You also check 3 alternate sequences for your input sequences for input sequence.

Click カートに追加する at the right on the top or bottom right. To continue order, enter

primer and needed information again. To confirm primer information in cart, click

カートを見に行くかを or click cart at the top right.

Value Oligo Upload Order

Download template for value Oligo order. Please note that template of value oligo is not same

as standard order.

Click “96 ウェルシーケンステンプレート” and download template first. Refer order instructions

in Instruction worksheet. After entering information, save as Excel workbook (.xlsx) or Excel

97-2003 file (.xls) after entering sequence and necessary information. When you save file as

text file, you select Tube template worksheet first.

Click ファイルを選択 to save file and the click アップロード to add products into cart.

Customers can upload sequence by copy primer information on template and paste it on

website directly. After you paste information, click 送信.

Refer to guidance to edit primer information on page17. Proceed ordering process after adding

primers to card as guidance in page14-19.

5. My Account

During log into, Users can access to order history in past 6 month and edit personal information

in my account menu.

Move the cart to your name and select menu as below.

Approval routing

If you make primer orders and then ask someone to place order, you have to set approval

settings.

Definition:

Approver: A registered user at your institution to whom your orders will be routed when the

orders exceed the indicated spending limit.

Approvee: A registered user at your institution whose orders you wish to approve.

Search approver

Select ”承認依頼” at the left side. Click▼ at the right of “注文の承認を依頼する” and then

enter email address in the blank and then click search.

Turn to next screen as below if there is approver email address and then click 変更を保存.

Notification mail is send to approve(To) and approve(Cc:) as below.

Click ”新しい承認者を追加” if no one approver is found and need to register new approver.

Approver needs to registered customer.

Enter “姓”,”名”,”E メールアドレス” and 電話番号(optional) and then click 承認者を追加.

Notification mail as below is send to approve(To) and approve(Cc:).

Approver sets approvee.

Before application of approver from approvee, approver has registered approve. Click ▼ at the

right of “ご注文の承認” and enter approve Email address in blank and click search.

If you search arrpovee email address, you see next screen as below and set spending Limit

(optional). If you have other email address to receive approval information , enter email

address in blank under 追加 E メールアドレス and click 保存. To assign temporary approver,

enter email address and click 検索. Finally click 変更を保存 to change settings.

A1. We recommend deleting Cookies of web browser first. If you don’t solve the issue, contact

primer order support team on page1.

Q2. What characters are used as password?

A2. You need to set password the combination of alphabet and numbers.

Example: password1→OK , password→NG

Q3. What should I enter in order number field?

A3. Any word is OK. This field is required field and enter dot(.) , order date(0120401) and so on.

Q4. Can you receive primer at home?

A4. We can ship primers only to your laboratory and office.

A5. If you want to change shipping address, you can change shipping addres. Click “編集” at

the bottom right in “規定の出荷先住所” as below.

You can’t change dealer information from web. If you need to change dealer, contact us on

page 1.

Q6. I don’t know the meaning of abbreviation as DSL.

A7. Delivery company rep. has to hand up primer for researcher who placed order directly. If

it’s Ok that anyone at same laboratory can receive primers, enter “どなたでも受け取り可能” in

“受け取り人様氏名(宛名)” field.
