To be implemented by the Overseas Human Resources and Industry Development Association [HIDA1

in cooperation with the Union of Myanmar Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry [UMFCCI)

bull Background

Globalization calls for improved business environments to promote trade and investment for more prosperity in Asia

The Training Project for Improving the Business Environment related to Trade and Investment by the Ministry of

Economy Trade and Industry (METI) of Japan has been assisting developing countries in improving their industrial

structure and business environments by sharing the Japanese economicl social system technologies and know-how

all of which have been proven effective for the economic growth of Japan The Overseas Human Resources and

Industry Development Association (HIDA) is entrusted with this program in FY2013 1 by METI to implement training

programs that contribute to the economic development and the needs of individual countries

1 A year covering April 2013 -March 2014

In line with the scheme of this Training Project HIDA will organize the above subject training program in cooperation

with UMFCCI and this training program which particularly aims at enhancing productivity of manufacturing companies

in Myanmar will be held as follows This is as same as the training program which was already conducted for over 100

participants last year end will be open to new participants who have missed the opportunity to attend the course last

year

HIDA The Overseas Human Resources and Industry Development Association (HIDA) is an organization for human resources development in developing countries to promote technical cooperation through training experts dispatch and other programs Through those programs we aim at contributing to the mutual economic growth of developing countries and Japan as well as enhanCing friendly relations between those countries (httpwwwhidajapanorjp)

UMFCCI The Union of Myanmar Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry (UMFCCI) was founded in 1919 as the Burmese Chamber of Commerce and upgraded as a federation in 1999 in line with the adoption of the market-oriented economic policy UMFCCI stands as a national level non-governmental organization representing and safeguarding the interest of private business sector It is dedicated to fulfilling the needs of private sector by providing various services such as human resource development training training in commercial education management and accounting providing trade information business faCilitating services business matching and consultancy services organizing delegations for trade fairs exhibitions seminars and study tours and other services as and when required by the private sector

bull Outline of the training program

1) Goals

In order to build today and open tomorrow hoping for the prosperity of the company and the happiness of the

employees this training is meant to proactively learn and master how to steadily improve international

competitiveness and generate profit by making products with excellent quality and appropriate pricing

8) Language used This course is conducted in Japanese with translation into Burmese the training program documents and training materials will be prepared in English

9) Tentative Schedule See the attached tentative shcedule

bull Training Expense This program will be financed by the Japanese government HIDA will cover the following expenses for participants

1) Meals HIDA and UMFCCI will provide lunch in kind based on HIDA regulations 2) Accommodation HIDA will prepare accommodation for participants from areas that are more than 50km

away from the training venue in a straight line except the same city Participants who need accommodation should contact the UMFCCI beforehand

3) Transportation HIDA and UMFCCI will not cover any transportation expenses

bull Participation requirements Be nationals of Myanmar Be executives or factory managers who have overall responsibility for their factory management of manufacturing companies Senior managers who are expected to play the role above in the future may also be accepted Be between 25 and 60 years of age on the starting day of this program Not doing mlitary service Of work for military related organizations and no be students Have a sufficient working knowledge of written English Be physically and mentally fit to undergo an intensive training program and are able to attend all the sessions of the course

bull Training Expense This program will be financed by the Japanese government HIDA will cover the following expenses for participants

1) Meals HIDA and UMFCCI will provide lunch in kind based on HIDA regulations 2) Accommodation HIDA will prepare accommodation for participants from areas that are more than 50km

away from the training venue in a straight line except the same city Participants who need accommodation should contact the UMFCCI beforehand

3) Transportation HIDA and UMFCCI will not cover any transportation expenses

bull Participation requirements Be nationals of Myanmar Be executives or factory managers who have overall responsibility for their factory management of manufacturing companies Senior managers who are expected to play the role above in the future may also be accepted Be between 25 and 60 years of age on the starting day of this program Not doing mlitary service Of work for military related organizations and no be students Have a sufficient working knowledge of written English Be physically and mentally fit to undergo an intensive training program and are able to attend all the sessions of the course
