• Presentations Includes pitch book preparation. • Analytical work Preparing the financial models, valuation, credit analysis, etc. • Administrative work Conference calls, meetings, making travel arrangements and keeping an up-to-date work list.

Role of an Investment Banking Associate!

• Investment banking associates are usually recruited directly out of MBA programs.

• They can also be the analysts who have been

promoted.

• Working 80 to 100 hours per week is common. • They also prepare Pitch books and become experts

in financial modeling using Excel.

Role of Vice President and Managing Director

• They play a major role in analyzing the Industry and predicting the future deals.

• They start preparing relevant pitches and turn them into deals.

• They typically focus on one industry and visit these companies on a regular basis.

• These visits are generally called as “sales calls”.
