WHAT?
•Consolidation of existing piping.
•Disconnection of stormwater inlets from the combined sewer system.
• Elimination of 15 of the 18 existing diversion structures.
WHY?
• Eliminate overflows at outfall 063.
•Reduce the volume of untreated wastewater to the receiving waters downstream.
• Provide capacity to alleviate basement backup concerns in upstream areas.
•Meet regulatory requirements as part of KC’s Overflow Control Program.
WHEN?
•Detailed design started October 2014 and is expected to run to August 2015.
•Construction is expected to be completed late 2017.

•Northern boundary - Meyer Boulevard

• Eastern boundary - Crest Drive/Railroad tracks
•Western boundary - Prospect Avenue
IMPROVEMENTS?
• 12,000 linear feet of new sanitary sewer consolidation pipe.
•Reroute storm inlets and connect to existing storm sewer box.
•Repair structural defects in sanitary sewer.
• Eliminate 15 diversion structures with new manholes.
WHAT TO EXPECT?
• SKW survey crews conducting topographical survey along proposed improvements.
•Utilities marking the locations of their services
• Public meeting before construction begins to inform the property owners about the new construction.
CONTRACT AMOUNT
Design professional services contract includes all services rendered through the construction phase of the project.
