2. 2My name isJudy Jackson 3. 3I am the oldest daughter ofmy maternal grandmothersoldest daughter.All of my family were born in Michigan.My grandfatherMy gram Mom 4. 4My mother didnt know what to teach her oldest next after simple readingso she forced the school authorities to accept meinto kindergarten at 4 years of age.In fact, my mother said (with much regret) that she knew I was going tobe a teacher after my first day of school. 5. 5She knew because I came home and organized a preschool in thebackyard. 6. 6I have a younger sister and brother. My father is different from theirs.This meant that I didnt inherit the dyslexia that they did.At age 7 we moved toCalifornia where I havelived most of the rest ofmy life.We got our first TV inCalifornia. 7. 7Except for the 6 years I spent in American Samoa.I was introducing the teachers there to computers.In Samoa I taught their staff about computers even thoughsome of them had never used a typewriter before coming to mytraining. 8. 8While a sophomore incollege I worked with an IBM360 computer as big as mycouch. I also took 2 courses inremedial teaching while atcollege and on that basis I washired to be a Special EducationTeacher in Corcoran, CA. Itaught 8 years there with theMentally Retarded, EducationallyHandicapped, and as a MathSpecialist. 9. 9I hope with the help of a MastersDegree to be able to teach online andavoid the constant winter asthmaattacks.
