What is Office 365
Office 365 is the same Office you already knowand use every day. Office 365 is powered by “the cloud” which is anetwork of servers that allow you to store andaccess data via the internet. You can get to your applications and files fromvirtually anywhere on a PC or a Mac and they'realways up to date. Same goes for updates tofeatures—you get them automatically.
How do I get Office 365
Go to the Bloomfield High School Web Site.Go to Students. Click on Student email.Click on Office 365.Your student email is: your ID#@edu.bloomfield.k12.nj.usYour password is your date of birth.
Outlook
Outlook is where you find your email. The first time you log on you will need toactivate your OneDrive. Click on OneDrive. It willtake anywhere from 1 to 3 minutes to activate.
What is OneDrive?
OneDrive is a free, online storage space that youcan use as your own personal online hard drive.When you create a document with one of the WebApps, it will be saved to your OneDrive. You canstore other files there, too. Some people refer tothis type of online storage as the cloud. Since WebApps and OneDrive are based in the cloud, you canaccess them from any computer with an internet connection, at any time.
How do I access Web Apps?
You don't need to install anything on your computer to use Web Apps. Instead, you workwith them online, using OneDrive.
What are Office Web Apps?• Office Web Apps are free, basic
versions of the most popular programs in the Microsoft Office suite. They let you create Word documents, Excel spreadsheets, and more without having to buy or install any software.
• Word - for creating text documents• Excel - for working with
spreadsheets• PowerPoint - for creating
presentations• OneNote - for taking and organizing
notes• Excel survey- for creating a survey
Once you’ve used Web Apps and OneDrive tostore files in the cloud, you can edit and share themwithout ever having to download them to yourcomputer. You can also upload files from yourcomputer, including photos and music. You caneven sync your computer and OneDrive so that anychanges you make to your files are automaticallycopied between the cloud and your computer
Your document will be created and opened. You name your documentin the blue banner where it says Document
After your folder is created
Click the folder to open it. The folder willbe empty.You can create new documents inside the folderfollowing the same steps. Just click the Addbutton and then select the type of documentyou wish to create.
Working with Web Apps
When you open a document in OneDrive,a preview of the document will appear. Click Edit Document and then select Edit in WebApp from the drop-down menu to begin editingwith Web Apps.
Printing
Under the File Tab click on Print.Click on the printer icon. This will convert yourdocument to a PDF.“Click here to view the PDF of your document.”Choose your destination (printer).Click “Print using system dialogue…(Ctrl+Shift+P)
Sharing
You can invite people to share a document or apower point with you and even give them theability to edit it.
Insert Tab
The Insert tab contains tools that let you insertTables, Pictures, Clip Art, Links and Headers &Footer
Page Layout Tab
The Page Layout Tab allows you to change themargin size, switch between portrait andlandscape mode, modify the paper size andchange the line spacing of paragraphs.
The View Tab
The View tab contains options that let you switchbetween two views –the Editing View lets you makechanges to your document and the Reading Viewshows a preview of your document.
Open in Word
If you have the desktop version of Word on yourcomputer, you can open the current documentin that program by clicking the Open in Wordbutton.
Word Count
The Word web app will display an approximateword count for your document in the bottomleft corner.
How to Delete
Click on the 3 dots next to the name of the fileyou want to delete. Then click on the 3 dots onthe screen that pops up. Then click delete.
