• Infrastructure Sustainability Council of Australia
• Australian Green Infrastructure Council (AGIC) - 2007
• ISCA in 2012
• The IS rating scheme - Which is a rating tool used which provides a consistent and measurable process for benchmarking sustainability performance
• IS is deployed across ANZ to measure and drive better sustainability outcomes
• It is a third-party assured assessment that evaluates the overall sustainability performance of the asset

Tips and Challenges for a rating

- The IS Technical Manual needs to be followed and understood in it’s entirety.
(The version 2 manual is 477 pages long)
- It is difficult, and your companies standard systems won’t cut it
- You need a committed project team and a designated resource
- Data collection and alignment to credits is the key (not just got sustainability initiatives)
- Experienced high calibre ISCA professionals are a rarity!!
- You are likely to need some external consultants to maximise points
- It costs money (rating costs $20-60k per rating + internal resources + consultants)
