INTRODUCTION

BackgroundConceptualized and managed globally by a non-profit Non-Government Organization (NGO)- Act of Random Kindness (ARK) Social Welfare Society and Social Reforms & Research Organization (SRRO), iWoman Global Awards is an international program designed to recognize women who have left an indelible mark on the society through their efforts and contributions, and are making this world a better place. This felicitation program is intended to encourage women of all hues and milieu to come together to build a strong network to help each other out for the larger good. This entity has operations in several countries in various capacities and has chapter representatives.

Introduction to the 4th iWoman Global AwardsiWGA promotes empowerment of women as well as the whole of society. In this spirit, the 3th iWGA celebrated the cause ’cinnamon’, which was an awareness program regarding the racism and stigma attached to the color of the skin, especially amongst women. The awardees as well as the attendants endorsed the cause.

iWGA 2020-2030 Cause

Care For FarmerTaking the spirit of empowerment further, from this term onwards iWGA has decided to support the cause of the farmers through the program ‘Care For Farmer (CFF)’. Farmers are a distressed community in India. The dependency on the monsoon for a good crop & on the system for a better pricing for their crops have left Indian farmers vulnerable over the years. India’s agrarian sector reels under the lack of infrastructure & motivation on the part of the system. With this ever worsening problem & patchwork of solutions, a human crisis has erupted in the guise of farmer suicides.

iWGA considers it to be the duty of every citizen to stand shoulder-to-shoulder in support with their fellow Indians who indulge in agrarian activities. That is why, iWGA has taken the pledge of support for the betterment of the lives of the farmers by providing them required assistance.

From skill development programs for women & youth such as sewing machine centers to basic healthcare & quality education, iWGA aims to contribute towards a future that has no space, even for the contemplation, for suicide for any farmer.

iWGA also understands that any initiative that aims to affect the lives of millions of people takes time to show the desired results. Keeping the time constraint in mind, iWGA has decided to pursue CFF for the next 15 years. With many milestones to achieve in this journey, iWGA seeks support from everyone & welcomes anyone who wishes to be a part of the Care For Farmers program. Jai Hind!

Objectives

ImpactWith over 40,000 nominations, more than 1800 screened and shortlisted participants for the last 3 years, iWoman Global Awards platform has created an impact through recognizing the efforts of countless women achievers. With a footfall nearing 3,00,000, the platform is ever growing and inching towards the excellence it envisions. Over the years, iWGA has formed many partnerships both in the governmental as well as the corporate sphere who have come on-board to support the award, thereby improving its credibility. iWGA takes place in four countries, namely India, Mexico, Spain and the USA. Hence the partnerships across the globe brought in access to a wide range of audiences such as decision makers in the business sector, government entities and, of course, a lot of relevant participants for the awards. Which, subsequently, has resulted in exclusive networking opportunities and consolidated future business associations.

Science & InnovationWomen in the field of science and technology who have done significant research, excelled in innovation or contributed heavily in their area of expertise.

Apart from the above-mentioned categories, there may be jury nominations for the following categories:

Woman Icon of the Year / Lifetime Achievement Award

Agriculture Women who are playing a leading role in agriculture, research, market linkages, innovation and helping other women to do agriculture effectively.

Arts The women artists that have excelled in taking their chosen art-form to the next level while making an impact on the society for good.

Education Women who have excelled in their chosen careers and have inspired countless others in the process.

Social Work Women who have consistently worked (including education & healthcare) for the betterment of women, children, poor, rural & minorities.

Sports Women with exceptional career achievements in their chosen sport as well as those who have enabled others to follow suit are recognized.

Literature Women who have enriched the world with their words and ideas and have achieved excellence in the process.

Environment Women eco-warriors who work towards preserving the environment, addressing climate change issues, animal rights, renewable avenues, energy conservation, and a cleaner environment.

Business & EntrepreneurshipRecognition to the successful entrepreneurs or business leaders who have made deep impacts on their industries.

Categories iWGA recognizes the following categories:

Eligibility Criteria Any person can nominate a woman achiever. A person can self–nominate as well. There are two awards for each category– one for general entry and other for the young achiever, i.e. under the age of 30 years (i.e. not born before March 8, 1990).

The nomination should include the following details:1. Name (Identify Proof required),

2. Age to define General or Young Achiever (Age proof required),

3. Contact details (To confirm nomination by the organizing team)

4. Category for Nomination

5. Detailed CV / Resume or description of past achievement or contribution; Work Videos; Documented Proofs

6. Endorsements (if any)

7. A justification for the award

A person cannot be nominated in more than one category, and the category cannot be changed after the closing date ofthe application submission.

Selection ProcessOur Central iWoman Global Awards Selection Panel (CiGASP) sets criteria for selection in each category. Each global region has a Regional iWoman Global Awards Selection Panel (e.g. Spain iWoman Global Awards Selection Panel) constituting of independent members.

Reaching Out: We contact all the nominated individuals to seek out their permission to further engage with us in the capacity of participants.

Verification: Then the verification of the documents related to the achievements of the participants is done by our selection team.

Screening ProcessThe verified nominees are put into our three-pronged system of screening

The first layer of screening results in a quantified score based on the impact assessment of the work done by the participant

The second layer of screening consists of telephonic interviews

The third layer of screening consists of Video Interviews

Based on the final ratings, the selection committee recommends the top 5 names in every category to the central team (CiGASP) for endorsement & / or experts of the categories

Failure to get sufficient recommendation and in the rare event the central team does not agree with the regional team, the recommendation may be nullified and an alternative need to be recommended

After considering the counsel of our jury and the average scores of the top 5 participants, Top two candidates are chosen as winners

The central team endorses the nominee and confirms the selection
