Ed Ordynski. Ed’s career in rallying spanned 34 years and though other competitors have been in the sport that long, few have spent most of that time at the top of their game. He is best known as the leading factory driver for Team Mitsubishi Ralliart Australia. He is one of only two South Australians to win the Australian Rally Championship outright, four Australian Group N Rally Championships, eight wins in Group N at the World Championship Rally Australia, as well as victory in the 20,000km, ‘Round Australia Trial, in a two-car team with motor racing legend Peter Brock, being some of his outstanding results. He has driven V8 Supercars at Bathurst and Sandown; competed in 12 hour races at Bathurst and Eastern Creek; contested rallies in Finland, Sweden, New Zealand, China, Japan, Indonesia, Thailand and Malaysia; and coached drivers internationally, including the winners of the Asia- Pacific Rally Championship and national rally championships in Japan, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand and here in Australia. After retiring from rallying, Ed became known for remarkable feats in energy-efficient driving, including winning the SUV category in the 2009 Global Green Challenge. He has been Manager of Motorsports Training Australia - a business division of Wodonga TAFE; Chairman of the Australian Rally Commission; and an adviser to the South Australian Motorsports Board and the Australian Institute for Motor Sport Safety.

Ed’s career in rallying spanned 34 years and though other competitors have been in the sport that long, few have spent most of that time at the top of their game. He is best known as the leading factory driver for Team Mitsubishi Ralliart Australia.

His classic car collection includes two Datsun 1600s, Holden HG Ute, MGB and Mk1 Mini Cooper S. Ed is Patron of the MG Club of SA, Mini Club SA, Rally Retro Festival Victoria and an Ambassador for Gilbert’s Motor Museum, Strathalbyn, SA.
