Introduction: -
Ozone water treatment Ltd., a for profit social venture with an expected opening
date of February 2013 in India, the aim of this business model is to facilitate the
rural areas in India with safe drinking water, which in turn reduces the water-borne diseases.
Mission Statement: -
Ozone water treatment Ltd., a for profit social venture with the mission of
inspiring and leading a revolution in providing the facility of safe drinking ‘water
kiosks ’ in the rural sector of the market, which is known as the emerging market.
There are more than 2.6 billion people who hardly come across the basic
necessities of living, such as safe drinking water and food as they live on less
than $2 a day. Ozone water treatment Ltd. intends to venture into the Indian
rural market as rural India has more than 700 million people residing in about
1.42 million habitations spread over 15 diverse ecological regions. Despite an
estimated total of Rs. 1,105 billion spent on providing safe drinking water since
the First Five Year Plan was launched in 1951, lack of safe and secure drinking
water continues to be a major hurdle and a national economic burden in ruralIndia. The company would expand the business in other countries rural areas
after building a strong network and base in the home country. The ultimate
concern of our company is to take a big leap and eradicate environmental
imbalance as much as possible.
Strategy: -
Ozone water treatment Ltd., being a profit social venture with a mission of
selling safe drinking water at scale to people in villages who don’t have access to
it. The small villages, which our company would target, have 100 to 300 families
with three or more mom and pop shops. The shops sell all the basic needs of
living from soaps to household items. Our strategy is to build a cement water
tank for about $ 100 besides each shop, and then purify the water in it using an
affordable water purifying technology. This in turn would help people to have

access to purified water when they would visit the shop to buy basic necessities.
The outcome of our business model would help in a major drop in medical bills
and illnesses - diarrhea, visits to clinics and doctors, electrolyte replacements
and hospital stays to treat the illnesses they get from drinking bad water.
It is difficult to establish the exact degree of the importance of water to man inhis arduous climb up the ladder of civilization. It is a fact to be taken intoconsideration that without water there would have been no life of any kind onthe earth and that, without the availability of water in adequate quantity and freeof harmful organisms, man’s progress is tremendously hindered. Despite the fact
that wastewater is a source of water pollution, it is considered a sustainable andvaluable resource that should be collected, treated and reused in an adequateway not only to preserve the environment and water bodies but also to conservethe water resources. The role of water as a carrier of microbes that are disease-causing in humans is often ignored. There is actually no count of billions of man-days of labour lost annually because of illness and death from water-bornediseases. One in eight people in the world lack of clean water for their use, a childdies every 15 seconds because of lack of clean water access and one in fourchildren who die before age five worldwide, die of water related disease. These
facts are very critical and need to be looked upon in depth.
