• It is also known as an Enterprise portal.• A SharePoint intranet portal is a way to centralize access to

enterprise information and applications on a corporate network. • It is a tool that helps a company to manage its data, applications and

information more easily.

• SharePoint Online is a cloud-based service, hosted by Microsoft, for businesses.

• SharePoint Foundation is available for free on-premises deployment.• It was called Windows SharePoint Services in previous versions.

• Organizations can deploy and manage SharePoint Server on premises.

• It includes all the features of SharePoint Foundation plus additional features and capabilities, such as Enterprise Content Management, business intelligence, enterprise search, personal sites, etc.
