Introducing the Rural Physician Leadership Program Class of 2023Submitted by Rebecca Todd, MD

St. Claire HealthCare proudly welcomes the newly-announced Rural Physician Leadership Program (RPLP) Class of 2023. These 12 students began coursework in Lexington on July 29 and will move to Morehead in two years to participate in clinical rotations.

The RPLP would like to thank all those physicians and community members who served in the admission process last year and helped us select this excellent group of medical students. We look forward to seeing these young men and women during their clinical rotations in two years.

RPLP Class of 2023, continuedThe Class of 2023 received a warm welcome to Morehead and an introduction to local faculty physicians at the RPLP Backyard Bash on July 18. The event, graciously hosted by Dr. Tom and Sarah Newcomb and catered by St. Claire Aramark, had a wonderful turnout of students from all four years as well as St. Claire physicians and administrators.

During the event Greg Bausch, Institutional Director of Medical Education, spoke about the history of St. Claire and RPLP, while Don Lloyd, II, SCH President/CEO began the recruitment of these future physicians.

While in Morehead, students also had the opportunity to participate in team-building experiences including the ropes challenge course at Morehead State University.
