INTRODUCING THE DIANA BYER LEGACY FUND
As dancer and actress Valda Setterfield says, “Diana Byer’s contribution to the dance world is particular and priceless.” The Diana Byer Legacy Campaign will secure Diana’s legacy of New York Theatre Ballet, Ballet School NY and the LIFT Community Service Program. Established to celebrate Diana’s 70th birthday in August 2016, this campaign will ensure that her important mission, keen artistic vision and faithful Cecchetti teaching all endure to inspire and enrich the dance world and many generations of young dancers. Please join us in honoring Diana’s lifelong work and her tremendous contributions, and help us launch The Diana Byer Legacy Campaign.

Dear Friend,
Dance has been my passion since childhood. New York Theatre Ballet and Ballet
School NY have been my life’s work for almost 40 years. I’m proud of what
we’ve achieved, and proud that so many of you are such loyal supporters and
longstanding friends.
It’s my dream for NYTB and BSNY to thrive well into the future. So I’m excited
to tell you that we’re celebrating my 70th birthday this year by inaugurating
our Diana Byer Legacy Fund. We’ll also perform for you in Danspace, and then
throw a fun-filled Dance-All-Night birthday party. I hope you’ll become a charter
member of the new Fund and plan to join our performance and the party on
October 7th. We’ll honor two amazing leaders in the NYTB family, former NYTB
board chair Catherine O’Hara and Debra Simon of Arts Brookfield.
Your donation in any amount will tell us that you’ve valued our work over the
years and want to help us preserve and build on that legacy in the future. We’ve
set a goal of $100,000 for the Legacy Fund. With your help we can achieve it.
At the same time, please tell us how many tickets you need for the party at the
birthday rate of $150 each. Your attendance will make it a truly memorable event
for everyone. At the post-performance party, there’ll be lots of fun and laughter,
delicious food and drinks, and we’ll dance the night away with our fabulous DJ!
Whether you’re giving for the first time or as a long-time friend, please know
how important your friendship and support are to me and the entire NYTB/BSNY
family. I look forward to performing for you on October 7th and to seeing you on
the dance floor!
With deepest appreciation and warm personal regards,
Diana Byer
