Introducing NorwegianThe modern way to fly

Norwegian Air Shuttle, more commonly known as Norwegian, has quickly become the world’s fastest-growing global airline, operating the newest and most eco-friendly fleet in the sky. Although its United States operations only commenced in 2013, Norwegian already offers more nonstop destinations and routes from the U.S. to Europe than any other European airline, with further expansion planned.

Norwegian was named “Best Long-Haul Low-Cost Carrier” by the renowned SKYTRAX World Airline Awards, voted on by customers, for the second year in a row in 2016, and at the same time, it was awarded the distinction of “Best European Low-Cost Carrier” for the fourth consecutive year (2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016). Additionally, it has been named Europe’s best low-cost airline by AirlineRatings.com for the past two years. In 2015, The International Council on Clean Transportation (ICCT) named Norwegian the Most Fuel-Efficient Airline on Transatlantic Routes.

Originally a domestic low-cost carrier in Norway, Norwegian is now the third largest low-cost airline in Europe and the world’s sixth largest low-cost airline. Beyond Scandinavia, Norwegian has established itself as one of the largest airlines at London Gatwick and is growing its presence in Spain, including domes-tic Spanish routes. Headquartered in Oslo, Norway, the airline also has offices and crew bases in Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Estonia, the UK, the U.S., Spain and Thailand.

In 2016, 30 million customers flew Norwegian, and the airline offers more than 450 routes to almost 140 destinations in 37 countries across the U.S., Caribbean, Europe, Northern Africa, the Middle East and South East Asia. Its fleet totals more than 120 aircraft, with more than 240 undelivered aircraft on firm order. Norwegian’s long-haul fleet comprises Boeing 787-8 and 787-9 Dreamliners, with 30 Boeing 787-9s being delivered between 2016 and 2020. The short-haul fleet is almost exclusively Boeing 737-800s, and Norwegian will be the European launch customer of the Boeing 737-MAX, of which it has 100 on order, with the first delivery scheduled for mid-2017. With its modern and fuel-efficient aircraft, Norwegian has one of the youngest and most eco-friendly fleets in the industry.

Norwegian in the U.S.From its U.S. destinations, Norwegian operates the world’s latest and most modern and eco-friendly aircraft, the Boeing 787 Dreamliner. Currently the airline serves Boston (BOS), Fort Lauderdale (FLL), Las Vegas (LAS), Los Angeles (LAX), New York City (JFK), Oakland/San Francisco (OAK), Orlando (MCO) and San Juan (SJU) to Barcelona (BCN), London (LGW), Paris (CDG) and the three Scandinavian capitals of Copenhagen (CPH), Oslo (OSL) and Stockholm (ARN).

In December 2015, Norwegian launched service from Baltimo-re/Washington (BWI), Boston (BOS) and New York City (JFK) to both Guadeloupe (PTP) and Martinique (FDF), followed by Fort Lauderdale-Guadeloupe in late 2016.

In June 2017, Norwegian will commence its Boeing 737 transatlantic service, launching another 10 new routes from the U.S. to Europe, specifically Ireland and the United Kingdom.

In total, Norwegian offers 55 nonstop routes from 12 U.S. airports, providing more routes between the U.S. and Europe than any other European airline.

Norwegian employs more U.S.-based cabin crew than any other foreign airline and has two crew bases in Fort Lauderdale and New York City. In 2017, it will be the first foreign airline to recruit American pilots in Fort Lauderdale, followed by new cabin and pilots bases in Newburgh, NY, and Providence, CT.

PremiumAll Norwegian’s Dreamliners feature Premium on long-haul flights. A much wider and more comfortable recliner seat, with 46 inch legroom, Premium also includes lounge access and fast track security at select airports, pre-departure drinks, two meal services during the flight, AVOD, including a large variety of dedicated children’s programming. Each seat also has a power outlet. All Premium customers are allowed two pieces of checked-in luggage of up to 20kg/44lbs.

DY = DIYFlying on Norwegian means you’ll get the lowest fares and can tailor your flight according to your needs. Just like in Premium, all seats have video/audio-on-demand and access to a power outlet and USB ports.

The airline code DY can almost be considered as DIY (Do-It-Yourself), as Norwegian allows you to pay for what you need, and avoid paying for what you don’t want. If you want it all (seating, luggage, full meal service and alcoholic drinks), it is easily purchased prior to departure, either when making the booking or up to 24 hours before. If you bundle, you receive a discount versus if you pay for each item separately.

Norwegian offers three easy booking classes for Economy on long-haul routes:• LowFare, which includes hand luggage only and the option to individually purchase any additional services. Changes can be made to the booking at a cost.• LowFare+, which includes hand luggage, checked luggage (of up to 20kg/44lbs), seat reservation, meals and drinks. Changes can be made to the booking at a cost.• Flex, which includes hand luggage, checked luggage (of up to 20kg/44lbs), seat reservation, meals and drinks. The booking can be changed up to 30 minutes prior to departure and is fully-refundable.

Short-Haul NetworkNorwegian offers one of the most expansive route network in Europe with more than 450 routes to 140 destinations in 37 countries. As one of the largest airlines at a number of prominent European airports – London Gatwick, Barcelona, Copenhagen, Oslo and Stockholm – U.S. travelers can easily connect to almost anywhere in Europe.

Norwegian’s short-haul fleet is also one of the world’s most modern, almost exclusively using Boeing 737-800s. With more legroom than most of its competitors, Norwegian is also the only airline in Europe with Wi-Fi on its entire fleet, and is the only carrier to offer it free of charge.
