What is KrosBlok made from?
KrosBlok is made of high density Polyethylene.
What load can KrosBlok take?
Each KrosBlok can withstand up to 150 kg.
Can I use KrosBlok in walls and columns?
Yes, with occasional tying.
How many KrosBloks will I need per m2?
12mm rebar at 400mm intervals will require 2 to 3 KrosBloks per m2.
Why should I not buy a cheaper alternative plastic spacer?
KrosBlok should not be confused with a mesh spacer. A mesh spacer has little to no fixity requirement as the mesh is pre-welded. KrosBlok’s fixity results are unparalleled in the market.
Why on each KrosBlok are the two slots different depths?
They differ by 5mm to enable each KrosBlok to provide two cover options per block. e.g. 30mm or 35mm.
Please note, on the 5mm side (e.g. 35mm, 45mm etc) it may require more frequent tying on the larger rebar sizes (16mm and 20mm).
We have been using cement spacers as we heard that plastic spacers can provide weak points for water ingress. Is this true?
No. Various studies of spacers in 30-40 year old concrete members have shown no evidence to support this concern.
Would you design and produce a spacer to order, i.e. for a depth or rebar size not currently in your product range?
Yes, depending on volume.
