STEP+
• You’ve been registered by GlobalEnglish for GlobalEnglish Assessment:
Standard Test of English for Professionals (STEP+) a 52-minute test that assesses your
listening , reading grammar and speaking skills in English.
▪ You’ll need a headset for the test. You must be in a quiet location where you will not be
interrupted.
▪ Your test should be taken in a single session.
▪ When your test scores are available (typically within about 48 hours), you will either
receive your results via email or from your Assessment Administrator.
▪ Please make sure to complete the test before <date>.

• STEP+ test contains 4 sections:• Grammar
• Listening
• Reading
• Speaking
• It’s a timed test. You have up to 52 minutes to complete it.
• The test clock shows time remaining in each section.
• You cannot move back and forth through the test. After you have submitted an answer to a
question, you can’t access it again.
• You cannot move forward to the next question until you have answered the current question.

Your welcome email is sent by GlobalEnglish ([email protected]) with a subject of “Welcome to One Assessment (STEP+)”.

Set up your password
In your Welcome email, choose Continue to Test and you will be taken to the profile setup page.

System Check verifies that:• you can play and hear audio files • your microphone is set to an appropriate recording level
If System Check identifies any problems, follow the Customer Support link to contact the GlobalEnglish Customer Support team.

The assessment consists of 4 sections:
• Grammar• Listening• Reading• Speaking
You will be given several sample questions before each section starts.

▪ In Part B and Part C, you’ll listento questions and then record your answers.
▪ You may NOT pause the timer during the Speaking section.
▪ You can only record each answer ONCE.
