Get the most important and relevant information at your fingertips with the newly redesigned My Workspace—a gateway to your TeamForge projects, people, and activities. We have reimagined the dashboard to enable deeper customization and personalization. In addition to being able to pick your preferred layout, you can leverage a variety of configurable widgets to bring critical information to the fore and take action—like zeroing in on specific artifacts or activities—directly from the dashboard. Some examples of the widgets follow:

y Project News—presents updates and announcements published by project participants

y Code Reviews—a collection of widgets showing open code reviews, merged changes, code changes by team member, and others

y Recent Projects and Repositories—lists the places you visited recently with hyperlinks for easy access

In upcoming releases, we will add more widgets to My Workspace so you can, for example, monitor relevant activities happening across the development lifecycle (Activity Streams) or stay on top of tasks, items awaiting your approval, and documents for you review—effectively equipping you with all the information you need to be productive.

@MENTIONS

Collaborate more effectively by using @mentions (an at symbol followed by a person’s name) in comments to artifacts and work items. An @mention automatically generates a notification to the respective person and keeps him or her appraised of subsequent changes to the artifact(s).

ARTIFACT CLONING

Save time and effort with TeamForge’s new capacity to reuse artifacts across projects and trackers. Copy an existing test case or defect to a new project rather than (re)creating it from scratch.

J UNRIVALED ENTERPRISE VERSION CONTROL

Created by CollabNet®, the founder of Subversion and a major contributor to Git and Gerrit, TeamForge enables enterprises and government agencies to leverage the advantages of distributed (Git) or centralized (SVN) version control systems, while providing a better experience for developers and ensuring compliance, governance, and IP security across all source code-related activities.

GIT LFS ENHANCEMENTS

Version control large files such as audio, video, graphics, datasets, binaries, and other sizeable files used in web, gaming, and mobile application development, animation, multimedia, scientific research, and other projects with TeamForge. TeamForge 16.10 enhances the platform’s LFS configuration capabilities by enabling administrators to turn LFS on or off and define the maximum binary file size for LFS storage.

In LFS, large files are replaced with text pointers inside a Git repo, while the actual file content is stored on a separate server

EASY CREATION AND DELETION OF BRANCHES

Quickly create new or delete existing branches directly from the TeamForge code browser’s easy-to-use interface.

TeamForge 16.10 enables the addition or removal of Git branches in just two clicks.

COMMIT CHERRY-PICKING

Increase development velocity and improve code quality with TeamForge’s new capacity to copy and paste code changes from one branch to the other (instead of manually recreating them for each pertinent branch).

Whether you need to apply a common bug fix to multiple branches or move select code changes between branches, commit cherry-picking saves time, helps avoid the introduction of unwanted defects, and makes it easier to locate and fix errors.

CODE-CHANGE REVERSAL

Undo undesired and problematic code changes speedily and effectively. To cancel a code change, TeamForge creates a new commit that reverses any and all changes introduced by the original commit—all while keeping a record of both of the commits as part of its continuous history logging.

TeamForge provides an easy way to reverse code changes.

The new integration with TestLink (v.1.9.15 or higher) brings TestLink test cases into the TeamForge traceability chain, linking related requirements, binaries, and test case runs for faster development and quality-issue resolution.

The integration enables automatic creation of TestLink Test Suites based on TeamForge Requirements and push-button filing of TeamForge Defects based on TestLink Test Case Run failures.
