What you need to get started:

Computer

Interwrite School Pad

Ezurio Bluetooth

~Set-up Guide~ Charge Pad

Pad must be charged for 8 hours before initial use

Pad will stay charged for approximately 40 hours

**Metal points on the pen and the pad must touch when charging or pen/pad will not charge.


Pen not secured in tray

Pen secured properly to charge

~Set-up Guide~Download Software

Interwrite Software must downloaded to computer.

Software download is available online.

Must download three programs-

1. Workspace Exam View Edition

2. Interwrite Content, and

3. EZURiO Bluetooth Driver

1. Interwrite Icon will appear on desktop and desk tray

2. Right click on the Interwrite Icon in the desk tray

3. Left click on Interactive Mode

** Interwrite toolbar will appear on the right side of the computer screen if the program is installed correctly.

Bluetooth connection establishes link between computer and pad

Ensure software is downloaded

Plug Bluetooth connector into USB port on computer

Establish connection Go to

Gallery

**Saved files using this mode can only be accessed later by having Interwrite software.

Click on toolbox Click on Capture icon Select an option from the

Capture window.(Partial, Freeform, Page)

Place a check in the "Place capture in new page" to automatically create a blank page in workspace with new captured image.

Selected image will appear in Workspace as an image.

Select this mode to: Interact with Microsoft

Applications such as; PowerPoint, Word document, and Excel spreadsheet

** Allows user to make annotations directly on the MS application and save as a doc., ppt, xls, etc instead of Interwrite file.

Click on save icon on the toolbar

Select location to save file

Type name of file

Click OK

Benefits:Students LOVE using the

Interwrite Pad. Often ask “Are we using the Pad today?”

Creates interactivity and adds excitement to lessons

Enjoy freedom to move around room



Drawbacks:Requires extra planning to

create effective lessons

Students get so excited they “fight” over device requiring patience and strong classroom management skills

Must use InterWrite software for many features causing limitations for student/home use



Brainstorm Activity--One Interwrite Pad was used

for this activity

Asked students to write statement and pass to another student

Positive—High interest

Negative—Loud, sloppy, and took additional time



Political Parties—Compare/Contrast

Two Pads were used in this lesson

Students took turns and passed

Worked much better than writing long passages
