Internet Explorer is the #1 blocker of Windows 7 deployments today.Often, its not that the applications cant be made to work, its that theversion of the application you are running isnt yet supported on yournew platform. For that, you need a fully supported stack. (Its alsoimportant to have an escape hatch just in case applications haveproblems during your early deployments.)

My favorite approach is one which automatically brings up the rightbrowser for the right application placing the burden on the user is asure-fire recipe for higher help-desk costs! While we provided that formachine virtualization with our MED-V product, weve not had that forpresentation virtualization until Quest added this to vWorkspaceInternet Explorer Compatibility Edition. You can have the security of afully-supported stack, with the user- and cost-aware centralmanagement of when to use which browser. This is a significant winfor both Users and IT Administrators enabling you to realize thebenefits of a new platform more quickly and less expensively.

AMBEROn windows 7 AOK automatically fixes in excess of 95% of the issues it flags as amber. Forthe few issues that require a decision to be made, an application packager may manuallymake the changes to the installation routine (MSI) to remediate these using the issue dataprovided by AOK.

GREEN

No compatibility issues were identified and they can proceed directly to UAT so they can betested and made ready for deployment

RED

Generally pertains to how the code or actual program works. In this case AOK will flag Redissues. In this case, there are no changes AOK can make to fix the problem. The problemneeds to be dealt with at the program code level by the software vendor.
