WHAT TO SUBMIT?

1) On-line or paper application.2) 500-word essay explaining your reasonsfor wishing to participate in an ISU program.Discuss how you would contribute to the pro-gram and how you expect to benefit from it inrelation to your academic and professionalbackground and career objectives.3) 100-word biography (not to be usedin the evaluation process but to be included inthe Student Biographies Booklet).4) Curriculum Vitae/Resume.5) Certified academic records, transcripts ormark sheets (photocopies are acceptable),showing year(s) of attendance, grades received,class standing and the degree or qualificationconferred.If the records are not in English, a certifiedEnglish translation must be provided.6) Two letters of recommendation in sealedenvelops.7) Declaration of professional experience(including relevant internships).8) Financial Information.9) Facts sheet.10) Proof of language proficiency in English(TOEFL or equivalent).

AFTER SUBMISSION

• ISU will acknowledge receipt of your applica-tion. If incomplete (missing one or more aboveitems), you will be notified. Incomplete applica-tions will not be submitted to the AdmissionsCommittee or the Funding Committee.• The application material will become theproperty of ISU and will remain confidential

Admissions / Funding

ACADEMIC ACCEPTANCE

Applicants are assessed on the basis of theiracademic and professional qualifications andachievements.

Preference is given to applicants:• holding higher academic degrees• with professional experience in industry,government agencies or academic institutions• proficient in a second language or willing tolearn one• focused career objectives• excellent references

Please note that a Bachelor’s degree (in anydiscipline) is the minimum requirement foradmission to ISU.For SSP, some exceptions are made for candi-dates with adequate professional experience infields relevant to the main academic content.

SCHOLARSHIPS AND FINANCIAL AID

ISU has scholarships, as well as financial aidfor students unable to cover the full tuition fees.There is no additional application.

• Interested applicants should consult the ISUwebsite for information about specific scholar-ship opportunities and criteria for eligibility.• After each rolling deadline, completed appli-cations will be assessed and financial aidawarded. Candidates will be notified of aidawards within six weeks after each deadline.Aid is granted on the basis of:

- academic and professional merit- demonstrated financial need- personal efforts to raise sufficient funds

• The earlier that candidates apply, the greater their chances of obtaining aid.• Scholarships and financial aid are offeredonly through the ISU Admissions Office.Candidates should not approach ISU sponsor-ing organizations to directly solicit funding.

PROGRAM FEES• SSP: 16,000 EUR(Full board and lodging included)There is a 3,500 Euro reduction in pro-gram fees for successful SSP studentswho enroll directly in an ISU Mastersprogram.The combined cost of the SSPand Masters program — normally35,500 Euro — is reduced to 32,000 Euro for such students. Please note thatfull board and lodging is only for theSSP and is not included in the fee forthe Masters program.

The five modules may be complet-ed on a full-time basis fromSeptember to August, or on apart-time basis (the modularoption), completing one or moremodules per year during a maxi-

mum period of three years. If themodular option is chosen,Modules 1 and 2 must be success-fully completed first; Modules 3, 4and 5 may subsequently be com-pleted in any sequence. Students

who have successfully completedan ISU Summer Session withinthe six years preceding registra-tion to the MSS or MSM, mayelect to join the Masters at thestart of Module 2.
