Where Local Governments Find, Validate and Procure Great Technology

Getting technology should not be this hard!
I give up!
How do I stay on top of innovation?
What are other cities using? Are these vendors that
cold call any good?
How do I write an RFP for that!?!
Is there a better way?
What is Marketplace.city?

Chronic Renal Disease is considered an important Public Health Problem
• High prevalence• Economic Cost
Renal substitution treatment modalities
• Haemodialysis• Peritoneal dialysis• Renal transplantation
These treatments represent almost the 3% of the NHS budget
State of the art
Haemodialysis Hemodialyzer (where the filtering is done)
Blood flowing into the dialyzer
Blood that returns to the body
36
Justifiying the need:
• Domiciliary haemodialysis is defined as the substitutive renal treatment that refers to the extra-corporeal purification carried out by the same patient at his/her home.
• Advantages:
• Adaptation of the modality to the patient's own lifestyle• Facilitates frequency increase of haemodialysis sessions
• Underused: 0.3% of the total number of patients in dialysis
• Barriers in our environment:
• Complexity in management• Need of installing a water purification plant at home.
