1 MESSAGE FROM THE ADMINISTRATION: Dear Parents, Well, it must be IASAS time again because I find myself the lone administrator in the High School office. Mr. Brown has travelled to Singapore this week with the boys Rugby and the girls Touch teams – good luck to our rugby and touch players! Similar good wishes go out to our Basketball and Tennis athletes who are currently lobbing, smashing, serving and dribbling in Kuala Lumpur and Jakarta. Of course, we are hosting IASAS swimming and I have been fortunate enough to have spent a few minutes here and there watching the swimmers in action and cheering on our Bearcat Sailfish. This has been made all the more enjoyable this year due to the extra level of spectator seating that has been built which overlooks the pool area. Some of the visiting coaches that I spoke to have commented on what an improvement this has made to our facilities. You can watch the events live by navigating your way to the following websites: For the rugby / touch, try: http://iasas.sasclubs.com For the basketball, zone in on: http://iasas.jisedu.or.id/stream.html For the swimming, surf to: http://community.ismanila.org/livestream/ (or come watch it here live!) The competition between the IT departments of each IASAS school, to provide the best video steaming, seems to have intensified this year – I think ISM is the only school with cameras mounted on mechanisms, built by our students in the Robotics classes. Looking ahead to the next few weeks, one of the more important things coming up is for students to make their course selections for school 2014-15. The Course Offerings Book is now ready and can be viewed at the following locations: On the school website: http://www.ismanila.org/page.cfm?p=527 On the High School blog: http://hs.ism-online.org/files/2014/02/2014-2015-Course-Offerings-Handbook.pdf We also have created a YouTube video channel, through which you can watch videos made by our high school teachers which describe in a little more detail some of the courses on offer. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UFgBKOqMmsQ&list=PL4jQw61ThIBDO7qd2cXbKq53l0qc8FLsR I hope you all have a pleasant and relaxing weekend. BPI charges 1/4 of 1% for every Php 1.00 or a fraction thereof plus a fixed postage fee of Php 6.50 and minimum charge for outward bills for collection is Php 100.00 excluding postage fee. HSBC charges USD$3 for credit to USD account and Php100 for credit to Peso plus other additional processing fee that maybe charged by the receiving bank. Furthermore, the student's account paid by the Citibank check will not be considered as settled / paid for until such time the check is advised to have been cleared by Citibank. In this regard, we would like to advise our parents to deposit CITIBANK checks directly to the ISM CITIBANK account. Please DO NOT DEPOSIT CITIBANK Checks to other ISM local banks such as HSBC and BPI to prevent above-mentioned problems. Also remember to use your new set of dollar checks as advised by Citibank to you. As per Citibank, they have previously issued notification letters to their account holders regarding this change.
