BUSAN NORTH PORT REDEVELOPMENT

- Location : 1~4 berths, international passenger ship terminal etc.- Scale: 1,532,419 m²- Project period : 2008 ~ 2019- Total Cost : $8.5billion / infrastructure $2.1billion(government, BPA) / facilities $ 6.4billion(private)

Relocation of the port functions is needed as a result of reduction in the competitiveness of traditional berths Reform the port function : logistics-based port → civil·commercial-based port

Korea and El Salvador signed MOU for port development cooperation in August 2015

Details of the Project

- Acajutla port : needs of equipment(harbor crane) and additional 2berth construction, and rearrangement of port function

- La Union port : improvement of infrastructure (water depth and road-connectivity) and needs of equipment

Korea has supported establishment of Feasibility Study for Development of Acajutla and La Union

Details of the Project

- Udappuwa : Breakwater, Unloading/supply/resting wharf, Basin area (construction cost : 44 Million USD)

- Delft Island : Breakwater, Unloading/supply/resting wharf, Basin area (construction cost : 24 Million USD)

- Mathagal : Breakwater, Unloading/supply/resting/ferry wharf, Basin Area (construction cost : 20 Million USD)

- Chalai : Breakwater, Unloading/supply/resting/ferry wharf, Basin Area (construction cost : 27 Million USD)

Korea has supported establishment of Masterplan for Multipurpose Fishery Ports in 4 areas in Sri Lanka

Korea and Tuvalu signed MOU on Port development and coastal protection cooperation in November 2017

Expected Impact : the study will provide a range of measures for coastal protection including eco-system initiatives, beach

nourishment, concrete and rock revetments, and sea walls.

Korea has supported establishment of Masterplan for coastal adaptation in Tuvalu, vulnerable to

the impact of climate change.
