Note: (1) All candidates MUST produce their final year mark sheet and

provisional/degree certificate at the time of test. Candidates awaiting results of

qualifying examination latest by 30th

September 2014 can also appear for the

test. However, they must produce all mark sheets upto previous semester and

must have scored a minimum of 55% marks in general category. Otherwise they

will not be allowed to appear in the test. Marks are relaxable for reserved

categories as per the GOI norms. The upper age limit is 25 years as on 30.6.2014

(relaxable for reserved categories).

(2) All candidates appearing for the written test MUST bring the “Photo ID-cum-

Hall Ticket” supplied herewith, duly filled in.

(3) All candidates are required to report in the Institute’s New Convocation Hall

at 9.30 a.m. sharp on June 19, 2014 along with their original certificates and

testimonials in support of age, educational qualifications, etc.

Sub: Offer of Government of India Fellowship to pursue Master of Arts/Science in

Population Studies (2014-2016) – Admission Test and Interview – Reg.

With reference to your application for admission to Master of Arts/Science in Population

Studies of the Institute during the academic year 2014-2016, you are hereby informed that you are

shortlisted for appearing in a written test and interview to be held on June 19, 2014 in the Institute’s

premises. The written test consisting of objective type questions on basic English, general knowledge,

quantitative aptitude, reasoning and basic demography will be held on June 19, 2014 from 11.00 a.m. to

12.00 noon. Mobile phones or any electronic gadgets are not allowed inside the examination hall.

Interview will commence from 3.00 p.m. to 6.00 p.m. on June 19 and from 9.00 a.m. to 6.00 p.m. on

June 20, 2014 only for the candidates, who qualify in the written test. And, the final selection shall be

made based on performance in written test and personal interview. To and fro, Sleeper second class train

fare will be paid to outstation candidates on production of tickets and in case of road journey normal fare

will be paid only for travel by public transport run by a Government body.

Limited multi-sharing accommodation in Deonar campus or Navi Mumbai campus, only

for the candidates appearing in the tests is available on payment of Rs. 100/- per person per day

from June 18-20, 2014, which will be provided on first-cum-first-served-basis. They should

approach the Hostel Reception for guidance. Other candidates are advised to make their own

arrangement for accommodation.

Candidates are required to report in the Institute’s New Convocation Hall, Third Floor, Library

Building at 9.30 a.m. sharp on June 19, 2014 along with their original certificates and testimonials in

support of age, educational qualification, etc. As per our admission criteria, candidates with at least

55% of marks (50% for SC/ST/PH) or equivalent grade in the qualifying examination are only

eligible to appear for the test/interview. In case of candidates belonging to SC/ST category, his/her

caste certificate issued by competent authority must be produced at the time of test. Candidates belonging

to OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) category must produce “Non-Creamy Layer” certificate for the financial

year 2013-14, issued by the competent authority to avail the benefit of 27% seats reserved for OBC (Non-

Creamy Layer) category, at the time of test. Those candidates who have applied with their results awaited

for final year qualifying examinations viz; B.A., B.Com, B.Sc., etc. MUST produce all their previous

semester mark sheets at the time of the test/interview. Candidates failing to produce previous semester

mark sheets and other testimonials will NOT be allowed to appear in the written test and will NOT be

paid any TA, as well.

The candidates, who are willing to appear in the test, must send confirmation by email given

above before June 16, 2014.

The list of the selected candidates would be placed on IIPS notice board as well as IIPS website

positively on June 24, 2014.

All the candidates appearing for the tests must bring the "Photo ID-cum-Hall Ticket" duly

filled in placed here below. Affixing photo is a must.

Since our academic session begins on July 14, 2014 (Monday), all the selected candidates will

be required to join the programme on the opening day.

The decision of the Institute on the selection of suitable candidates and on the number of

candidates to be offered admissions for the programme during the current academic session shall be

final and binding on the candidates.
