It may be noted that to assure and enhance internal quality in teaching-learning,

administration and research activities of the various schools, IQAC and IQEChave been

constituted on 5th September 2012 at Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University.

Following is the executive summary of the initiatives undertaken by the School and the

challenges faced:

(a)Curriculum Development and the Course Basket –

1. Curriculum Review –Various Boards of Studies meeting were held and after

changed with added rigor.

• A seminar on ‘Research and career prospects in Economics’ was organized on 16th

October from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at PDPU campus by the Economics Area faculties

of Department of Social Sciences. DrTulikaTripathi, Assistant Professor at Central

University, Gujarat was the guest speaker. 26 students attended the seminar.

• The Faculty of Economics in the Department of Social Sciences organized a talk of

ArthSamvad series on a very contemporary topic of global concern ‘Currency

Turmoil in Emerging Markets on 24th October, 2018 at SLS, PDPU. The invited

speaker was the popular economist DrIndradeep Ghosh, who is also the Associate

Professor and Dean of Meghnad Desai Academy of Economics. 27 students attended

the seminar.

• A seminar on ‘Regulation of Competition in Indian markets’ was organized on 18th

March from 9:00 am to 11:00 pm at PDPU campus by the Economics Area faculties

of Department of Social Sciences. MrYogeshDubey, Deputy Director, Competition

Commission of India, from New Delhi was the guest speaker. 91 students attended the

seminar.

• A training workshop on the usage of Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS)

software was organized on 22nd-23rd October 2018 by the Library and Information

Centre and Economics Area faculty of Department of Social Sciences, School of

Liberal Studies (SLS)

• A training workshop on CMIE Prowess IQ database was organized on 30th January

2019 at Computer Lab I, Block C, PDPU Campus. The workshop was organized by

Library and Information Centre in joint collaboration with the Department of Social
