Conference Overview
Welcome To Chattanooga! The Department of Medicine at the University of Tennessee College of
Medicine Chattanooga is very excited to offer the first UTCOM/Erlanger Internal Medicine Update! The planning committee has worked diligently to assemble a group of local and nationally renowned speakers to present the most up-to-date review of medicine at this conference.
The conference will begin with a timely kick-off dinner discussion by former Governor of Tennessee Phil Bredesen and David Merritt, Vice President and National Policy Director at the Center for Health Transformation, on the topic of “Healthcare Policy in the US: Where We Are Going in the Next Decade”. Their discussion will be followed by a panel of health care experts addressing questions from the audience.
The conference has been approved for total of 16.5 CME/AMA Category 1 Credits, and we are offering two ABIM Maintenance of Certification Learning Sessions on 2014 Updates in Internal Medicine and in Hospital Medicine.
The conference has been planned so that participants will not only benefit from the educational opportunity but also have the time to enjoy one of the most visited cities in the Southeast; visit Lookout Mountain, the Aquarium, the Hunter Museum of Art and other scenic sites. The timing also coincides with the annual RiverRocks Adventure Sports Games, hosting events including rock climbing, kayaking, off-road biking and many other sporting activities for the sports enthusiast. In addition, Yo-Yo Ma will be in concert on Thursday evening.
As you review this brochure and the topics & presenters, we hope that you will decide to take advantage of this opportunity for an intense medicine review. Come to the beautiful city of Chattanooga and to the UTCOM/Erlanger Internal Medicine Update!
Sincerely,
