Asia Climate Forum Conference, 6-9 July 2020The conference programme will comprise a 2-day core programme with 3 parallel tracks, InterMET, InterAIR and InterFLOOD, with presentations, workshops and panel sessions (7-8 July) plus two 1-day workshops supported by the World Bank-GFDRR, WMO and HMEI (6 & 9 July). Exhibitors can also give business presentations in the exhibition area.

Organised by Singapore’s National Environment Agency (NEA), the biennial Clean Enviro Summit Singapore (CESS), is a global networking platform for thought leaders, senior government officials and policy makers, regulators and industry captains. Held from 5 to 9 July 2020 alongside SIWW and WCS, at the Sands Expo & Convention Centre, Marina Bay Sands. The 5th edition of the event is themed ‘Shaping Environmental Sustainability in Growing Cities’.

In 2018 over 24,000 delegates from over 100 countries attended, 284 business meetings took place, and deals worth over $18 billion were announced.

Highlighting the business opportunities

O Rapid urbanisation and population growth make Asia highly vulnerable to extreme weather, climate change, flooding and air pollution – innovative solutions are crucial to manage & mitigate the impacts, and to develop more resilient business and infrastructure.

O These challenges present major business opportunities for the Global Weather Enterprise. The solutions crucially depend on hydromet technology and data services in such areas as transport, energy, communications, water, food, public health and other critical infrastructure and essential services.

O The 2020 conference will focus on weather impacted urban infrastructure and essential services – and on innovative solutions to build resilience and address extreme weather & climate change.

O The new opportunities for the weather business include: electric and autonomous vehicles; energy efficient buildings; urban renewable energy; urban and coastal flood mapping; and public health.

Asia Climate Forum is part of the international co-operation framework comprising the World Bank, the Global Facility for Disaster Reduction & Recovery (GFDRR), the World Meteorological Organisation (WMO), and the Association of the Hydro-Meteorological Equipment Industry (HMEI). Supporters include the Singapore National Environment Agency and Meteorological Services Singapore.

For 2020, Asia Climate Forum will be part of Clean Enviro Summit Singapore (CESS) and co-located with Singapore International Water Week (SIWW) and World Cities Summit (WCS).

Asia Climate Forum will provide a compelling weather & climate change agenda focused on the use of hydrometeorology across industry and society, and its importance in meeting the growing challenges of extreme weather and climate change.

Each has its own dedicated conference & exhibition programme covering: extreme weather & climate change; flood management, mitigation and resilience; and air quality & pollution.
