Festive season getting closer with

every passing day, the car

manufacturers have started

making preparations to exploit

the situation by giving final shape

to their strategies and planning.

Like yester years this year also, it

is speculated that all major car

makers including Maruti Suzuki

India Limited, Hyundai Motors

India Limited, Honda Motors,

Renault, Tata Motors and others

will come up with new cars offering with advanced features to lure buyers.

Interestingly, there are few vehicles which have already grabbed the attention of car enthusiasts throughout

the India quite early before their launch, and they are highly awaited vehicles during upcoming festive season.

Maruti Suzuki Baleno RS is one of these vehicles which have mesmerized the Indian buyers due to remarkable

performance by its standard variant.

The name of Baleno is although not new in the Indian car market as from 1999 to 2007 it was sold as luxurious

sedan under the flagship of country’s leading car maker Maruti Suzuki. However, unfortunately it did not

succeed in winning the hearts of Indian buyers due to high prices as against the features offered by it, as the

result of which the Indo-Japanese car maker had to discontinue it from the Indian car market.

It was after eight years of gap when the car makers decided to re-launch the product in completely new avatar

of hatchback and it was in October 2015, when Baleno badge re-entered in the Indian car market.

Interestingly, this time it succeeded in grabbing the attention of Indian buyers and emerged as massive hit for

car maker which was shattered by the poor performance by its first crossover S-Cross despite of its aggressive

promotional strategy and features adorned in it.

The success of Baleno can be witnessed from fact that company has announced to bring its RS variant and

showcased it concept during the Indian Auto Expo 2016 along with its compact cross-over Ignis. But,

encouraged from the increasing sales of Baleno hatchback, car maker is going to launch the Baleno RS

sometimes during the 2016 festive season to en-cash the increasing profits being enjoyed by the product.

Now as still there are few weeks left in arrival of festive season let us have a look on features that would be

offered in Baleno RS:

According to reports, Baleno RS will be empowered with 1.0 litre Boosterjet three cylinder engine that

will churn the power of 112bhp and torque of 175Nm.

With RS variant MSIL will make its debut in the segment in which till now it does not have any

representative. At present only Ford Figo 1.5, Fiat Abarth Punto and Volkswagen Polo GT are offered in

RS variant.

As far as looks of

Maruti Suzuki Baleno

RS are concerned it is

reported to continue

the existing looks of

Baleno hatchback

with minute cosmetic

changes followed by

RS badge across the

body to distinguish

between regular

Baleno and RS Baleno.

As far as other

features are

concerned that would

be offered in Baleno RS, it is rumored to be embellished with SmartPlay infotainment system with

Apple CarPlay system. It is also speculated that instead of multi functional steering wheel company

might flat button steering wheel.

The transmission system will include five speed manual gearbox followed by option of Continuous

Variable Transmission system (CVT).

It is expected to be priced in range of Rs. 8 lakh to Rs. 9.5 lakh (ex-showroom price).

Like its erstwhile variant Baleno RS will also be sold through NEXA outlet.
