URBAN PARISH PROGRAH

Sister Patricia Johnson is pleased to announce the accreditation of Emmanuel's new Urban Parish Program by the Association for Clinical Pastoral Education. The accreditation process has been going on throughout the academic year and has involved consultation with an advisory committee of educationa: and community leaders, the preparation of a feasibility study document, and a site visit by a subcommittee of the Accreditation Commission. The vote of the Commission, taken on May 8, makes it possible for Emmanuel to give professional as well as academic credit to graduate students who enroll for clinica: pastoral education. There are four parishes which have agreed to provide ~inistry opportunities for the UPP interns. Interns also will be able to serve through the Emmanuel Campus Ministr; The Association for Clinical Pastoral Education is a national certifying and accrediting agency for programs in Church ministry education.
