Multimedia
Multimedia is a collection of various media
– text, image, sound, video and animation that come together to form a single unit
Interactive multimedia means that the user can
– interact, navigate, explore, communicate with the media
Components of multimedia
Multimedia has four essential components
– computer allows viewing, hearing, and interaction
– media are connected through links– navigation tools allow moving
between connected media links– user controls the flow of media
Why multimedia?
People remember– 20% of what they see– 30% of what they hear– 50% of what they see and hear– 80% of what they see, hear, and

Multimedia provides a value that the individual media alone cannot
