I sit at the same level as the interviewee.Body slanted toward her but not facing her and face turned towards her.

Hands placed on my laps in a welcoming manner.

I say, Hello Tayedia, my name is Samantha, I am going to be interviewing you today. How are you feeling?

You have difficulty sleeping?

How many hours of sleep did you get last night?

Why cant you sleep?

Why did you wait last minute?

What are you doing now?Have you ever thought about managing your time better?

Lets see if we can figure this out.Client is sitting down with her shoulders slouched and her hand on her face with her elbow resting on her leg.

She was doing homework before I interrupted her. Her eyes are tired.

She has bags under her eyes and seems uninterested in the conversation.

She says, Im feeling tired, I cant even think.No I just was up late studying.I only slept for three hours last night.

I waited last minute to study for my test today so I crammed the night before.

Because Im so consumed with work and I always forget when I have assignments due.Im doing homework that is due tomorrow.

Yes. But I dont know how.Client needs to makes a schedule that plans out her day and includes her school schedule, work schedule, and time for sleep.

She needs to know when the assignment is due and give herself adequate time to complete it before the due date.

Eat foods that will help her think such as a fiber filled breakfast before a test.Ask her more therapeutic responses such as tell me more about that or show empathy by saying It must be hard to have to work and go to school at the same time.
