The official prayer life of the Church revolves around the celebration of the Sacrifice of Mass and the Liturgy of the Hours. Through these two prayers the Church participates in Christ’s sanctification of the world. I would like to introduce two helpful resources for participating in the prayer life of the Church.

http://www.usccb.org/bible/readings/ You can find the readings for Mass at this website

The Liturgy of the Hours is five moments of prayer. They are called Office of Readings, Morning Prayer, Midday Prayer, Evening Prayer, and Night Time Prayer. Priests, Deacons, Religious Sisters and Brothers, and many lay peo-ple pray these prayers throughout the world. There is a great online resource for praying these prayers. You can find a free app for your phone “iBreviary” or visit http://www.ibreviary.org/en/ Try to find a time this week to join the Church in prayer for at least one of these moments of prayer. Maybe you can join the Church in prayer by praying midday prayer during lunch break one day this week or night time prayer before going to sleep

ST. Michael Catholic High School

St. Michael Catholic High School is excited to announce it will begin a new high school program for students with intellectual difficulties in the 2018-19 school year. The “Side by Side” program will teach five or six students each year whose academic performances range between 2nd and 6th grade, pair-ing them with a fully certified special needs teacher for their core classes, mainstreaming them into elective classes, and encouraging them to partici-pate where appropriate in the extracurricular life of the school. For more information, contact Jackie Stapleton
