DESCRIPTION

Intensity is the winner of the GDX / Entelechy 2009: Best Non Digital Game Award. ​ For this project, I collaborated on mechanics, balancing, concept art, graphic design and production. ​ Our goal with intensity was to create a structure building game for 2 to 4 players that pitted players against each other in various modes of play. We used the M.D.A (Mechanics, Dynamics and Aesthetics) Model to create a fast paced game play experience that always builds up to a sense of intensity. We wanted to design an abstract strategy game that would be appealing to people of all ages that was simple to learn yet nearly impossible to master. Our biggest challenges with this game were balancing the various game modes and producing the game with materials that no one on the team was familiar with. ​ Intensity is a game developed in 10 weeks by: Jon Chung, Ken Fleming, Seth Smith and Randy York.
