Over the past 40 years, we have designed, manufactured, installed and retrofitted analogue and digital safety instrumentation and control systems in nuclear reactors of all types.
We have undertaken upgrades across a number of operating reactors and developed formal obsolescence strategies using a combination of analogue and digital expertise to help customers manage the introduction of new systems while continuing to meet local licensing requirements.

Simple, fast electricity for the futureLeading a consortium of UK companies, our Small Modular Reactor (SMR) concept is designed for factory manufacture and commissioning, opening up the significant cost benefits of scale, speed of installation and reduced onsite construction work.
Generating between 400-600MW and promising 500 day start-to-finish
construction period, it’s a truly innovative concept that will redefine how low carbon power is delivered. Rolls-Royce is the UK’s only nuclear island systems designer, supply chain integrator and manager, and has a long history of supplying specialised components, systems and services to the civil nuclear industry.
For more than 40 years we have designed, engineered, manufactured and supplied custom equipment for both new build projects and operational reactors around the world. Now we’re applying that to a new design to meet the low carbon needs of our energy future.
