MUSIC AND HISTORY
Helps students with memorization of key terms.
Serves as a primary source document. Can be used to describe a historical
figure’s personality or accomplishments. Gives students a creative outlet. Music Videos engage the students in
multiple ways (visual and auditory).
MUSIC AND HISTORY
There a numerous songs that have been produced that describe historical events and
facts. For example, “Roads to Moscow” by Al Stewart describes the German invasion
of Russia during World War II. The song details their invasion and the failure of that
invasion when the Soviet Union finally repels their attack.
The history of music can also be included. A history teacher can discuss the evolution
of music over time, including the progression from cassette tapes to compact disks.
Music can also be incorporated by associating specific songs with events like Vietnam
and the music that was produced during that era like Creedance Clearwater Revival.
MUSIC AND MATH
Allows students to perform multiple tasks.
Fibonacci sequence is present in music.
- Fibonacci numbers
- Golden section.
