1755 | ALL STARTED WITH A WATERMILL

On 4 December 1754 the merchant Heinrich Klug received permission to build a mill on his property above the Palatinate Geiselberger Mühle. The cornerstone was laid for the centuries-old tradition of theSchwanenmühle.

1970 | DYNAMIC GROWTH WITH ERICO

The expansion connectors and busbars from Schwanenmühle proved to be profitable additions to the product portfolio for ERICO GmbH, which became the largest customer of Alois Weiser KG.

1999 | FOUNDING OF VISION ELECTRIC

With the founding of Vision Electric GmbH, the development, production and installation of busbar systems ranging from 32A to 300 k.A. were concentrated under one roof.

2012 | EXPANSION INTO POLAND

With the founding of EMS Polska Elektro Metall Spezial-GmbH, the companyexpanded into Poland and increased its scope with a second production site.

TODAY | ALL BRANDS UNDER ONE ROOF

Today EMS Elektro Metall Schwanenmühle GmbH with its brands EMS, SPS and Vision Electric is known for cuistomizes full service in electrical connec-tion technology.

1945 | START FOR ALOIS WEISER

When Alois Weiser KG wasfounded, the family moved into manufacture of devices and containers for the chemical industry. The knowledge and skills gainedin the new business were quickly put to use in the production of large busbars and expansionconnectors for chlorine, zinc, aluminum and other types of electrolysis. With the development of innovative technologies such as press welding of copper laminates, the company advanced to the level of specialist.

1979/80 | WEISER TURNS INTO ERICO

ERICO GmbH acquired Alois Weiser KG and moved the company headquarters to Schwanenmühle. Production capacity was increased substantially with construction of new facilities. Years of organic and dynamic growth saw the number of employees increase to 160.

2000 | MANAGEMENT BUYOUT KICKS OFF EMS ERA

Kurt Mutter and Dr. Wolfgang Reiser, the top two general mana- gers at ERICO, took over the Schwanenmühle production plant and established an independent company in EMS Elektro Metall Schwanenmühle GmbH. The core competence of the new business is the develop- ment and production of electrical connectors and special electrical products. The manufacture of busbars remains with Vision Electric GmbH.

2003 | SPS FOUNDING

In light of positive business development, EMS diversified further with the founding of a third company, SPS Standard Produkte Schwanenmühle GmbH. It develops, produces and markets standard products for the electrotechnology industry, including insulated, laminated busbars (Isoflexx), highly flexible busbars (Ultraflexx) and ground strips (primarily for switchgear systems).

ENGINEERING Research, (Project) Development, Construction: Technically sophisticated solutions for many different industries

PRODUCTION TECHNOLOGY Maximum precision provided by ultra-modern processes

1 | JOINING TECHNOLOGYOne of EMS core competences: Soldering, pressure andgas-shielded welding of copper and aluminum

We take on any challenge! EMS stands for integrated servic-

es, so finding solutions to complex problems is part of our

core competency.

In close cooperation with you, we develop projects system-

atically and implement them efficiently. Optimizing function-

ality is just as important as infrastructural, production and

economic concerns. This results in cost-efficient and custom-

ized solutions that meet customer requirements down to the

smallest detail.

In addition to our own finished products and solutions, we

offer our OEM customers tailor-made support at all levels of

manufacturing processes. We get involved as needed, we

get involved in the development and construction of proto-

types and support our customers with technical design and

calculations right up to readiness for series production. Expe-

rienced engineering experts and designers plus ultra-mod-

ern technologies guarantee 100% needs-oriented results in

analysis, calculation, simulation, testing and prototyping.

The press-welding process joins together multiple copper

layers of different thickness.

Mastery of this technology requires a three-year training pe-

riod. Carrying out the work independently often calls for con-

siderably more experience. That's why EMS purposely puts

together a staff of all ages and maintains a workplace culture

based on the idea of "challenge and support".

One-half of our team has been working for many years in the

industry while the others are young, ambitious employees

who are systematically introduced to complex production

processes by their experienced colleagues. In a two-year cy-

cle we test our employees' skills and provide specific training

to enhance and develop them. That's how we make sure that

knowledge is regularly conveyed and technology is brought

up to date. We are proud that we are able to build on the

know-how of our internally trained press welders. Thanks to

the profound expertise of our employees and state-of-the-art

machinery, We can offer you a broad portfolio of connectors

with a large number of cross-sections.

Trust in our core competence to professionally implement

complex requirements – That is what EMS stands for!
