Community Center (1605 Burnley St.) will start offthe round of music program presentations for theholidays. The Monte Vista Bands and Las ColinasBands, and YAA Off Beats, will perform. First, Monte Vista Bands are to report at 9:40am, and will perform at 10 am. Dress should beMVS Band shirt, black pants, black shoes andsocks. Next, YAA The Off Beats report at 11:15 am andperform at 11:30 am. Performers should wear TheOff Beats shirt, black pants, black shoes andsocks. Then the Las Colinas Bands report at 12:15 pmand perform at 12:30 pm. Members should weartheir LCS band shirt, black pants, black shoes andsocks. Band members, please leave your instrument cases inyour cars. Audience members should bring a folding chair.
Marching Practicefor the Christmas Parade
Attention: YAA Concert Band, YAA The OffBeats, YAA Orchestra wind and percussionplayers, Monte Vista and Las ColinasIntermediate and Advanced Bands, and SRTMSIntermediate Band! There will be marching practice sessions for theannual Camarillo Christmas Parade on Monday,December 5 and Thursday, December 8 from 4 to5:15 pm at UCMS, 700 Temple Ave.

Marchers should wear comfortable shoes andbring a jacket, as marching practice is outside. Wewill be in the Gym if it rains.
YAA Musicians to PerformDecember 6
YAA Beginning Strings, Intermediate Strings,and Orchestra will present a concert onTuesday, December 6, in the CamarilloCommunity Center auditorium, 1605 Burnley(corner of Carmen and Burnley). Report time for musicians is 6:30 pm, with theconcert beginning at 7 pm. Beginning and Intermediate Strings should weartheir YAA t-shirts, black pants or skirt, black shoesand socks. YAA Off Beats to Performfor Somis Thursday Club
Annually, The Off Beats perform for the SomisThursday Club at holiday time. This year, theperformance will take place on Thursday,December 8, 2016. Musicians will leave school at 10:30 am andtravel via carpool. From 11 am to 12 pm they willhave lunch, arriving at the Thursday Club at 12:15

PVSD Bands to Play in CamarilloChristmas Parade
The annual Camarillo Christmas Parade will beheld on Saturday, December 10, 2016. Thetheme of the parade this year is "A Rockin'Christmas". Participating in the parade will be YAACONCERT BAND, YAA THE OFF BEATS, YAAOrchestra woodwinds, brass and percussion,SRTMS INTERMEDIATE BAND, LAS COLINASINTERMEDIATE AND ADVANCED BAND, ANDMONTE VISTA INTERMEDIATE AND ADVANCEDBAND.
PVSD Band is led byDrum Majors TaylorFuchs and KaileyClaycamp. Taylor is amember of The Off Beatsand Las Colinas Band;Kailey is a member of theLas Colinas Band. Once again, SOKM willbe organizing Applebee'sFlapjack Fundraisers formusic students at LasColinas, Monte Vista, andnew this year, PVSEA,LPSSA, and SRTMS. SOKM provides sheetmusic, instruments,instrument repair, musicstands, supplies,refreshments, awards,buses, etc for middleschool music students. These fundraisers are away for middle schoolmusicians and their parentsto help SOKM help them

Posas is closed to traffic between Charter OakDrive and Loma Drive at 9:00AM. Give yourselfplenty of time to arrive; traffic is very congestedthat morning. Students are to wear long black pants and theirMonte Vista, Las Colinas or YAA T-Shirt. No shorts.Please remember to wear comfortable walkingshoes. Students will be wearing Santa hats. If yourstudent has his or her own Santa hat, bring it thatmorning. We will provide a Santa hat for studentswho do not have one. Students can decorate their instruments withtinsel and bows. Make sure the decorations do notinterfere with playing. Students might considerpurchasing a lyre so they can march carrying theirmusic. Most students find it easier to memorize themusic than trying to use a lyre. It takes approximately one hour to march theroute. Remember your student will be done beforethe parade ends. Please pick up your studentsby 11:20am at Monte Vista Middle Schoolparking lot, 888 N Lantana Street, 93010. Youcan watch the rest of the parade at the corner ofCarmen and Burnley. Remember that Carmen isclosed to traffic between Burnley and LasPosas and you will not be able to park in theCommunity Center parking lot. A contest will be held tosee which middle schoolcan sell the most tickets!More details coming inDecember! So save the dates:Saturday, January 21 forMonte Vista, SundayJanuary 22 for LasColinas, and SaturdayJanuary 28 for PVSEA,SRTMS, and LPSSA.
The breakfasts go from8 am to 10 am; pancakes,syrup, scrambled eggs,sausage, juice and coffeeare served.

The Off Beats to Entertain at CamarilloHealth Care Center
Each winter, YAA The Off Beats hold their lastrehearsal before winter break at the CamarilloHealth Care Center, 205 Granada St., sharing alittle holiday cheer with the residents. This year, the event will be held on Wednesday,December 14. Students are to report to the centerto perform at 4:00 pm, and parent pick-up time is5:15 pm. Students must provide their own transportationto the center. They should wear The Off Beatsshirt. Santa hats are optional.
